Kane only got a chance when Adebayor & Soldado were injured. As much as I'm grateful for Llorente's input last season, I feel it is time for him to move on to allow Parrott some game time (Carabao cup etc). TP looks like he can be a player and giving him minutes could develop us another star.
That combined with FL's age, wage (rumoured 100k PW) non HG slot and the fact Son & Lucas are very capable in the 9 position suggests it's time to thank big Nando for everything and look to the future.

I'm inclined to agree. Nando had some nice touches and link up play, but in 36 PL appearances he only scored 2 goals. Could Parrott honestly do much worse than that?

I'll forever love the man for his hip shakin' manoeuvre against City, but I think we might be better off developing Parrott and saving an extra slot for a foreign player in the squad, along with his hefty wages.

People suggesting Parrott as a back-up, he does look like a wonderful talent, but his only 17, surely thats too much to expect at such a early stage of his career, his never even played a competitive senior mens football match. Experience is crucial in champions league etc, as Nando showed.

Rooney :) if good enough he will play , sometimes players are naturally ready . I think he is one of them . I said last season he was ready , if he wasn’t injured I’m sure we would of seen more of him already .
Great talent .

Keeping him for around 60,000 pounds a week would seem to be good insurance for a year in which Parrott keeps maturing. But would he think that as an insult coming down that much from 100,000/wk?

i wouldn't keep him on100k. I doubt anybody else would take him on at that either but if they do, good luck to him.

My guess is we'll try to sign someone younger in the last few weeks of the window and then return to Llorente if we can't bring anyone in.

As much as I loved how Parrott looked yesterday, he's 17. Even Owen was 18. I can't think of a single striker who has ever broken through in a big way at that age. He certainly deserves appearances, but being a true back-up getting 30-35 appearances I think is something for next season rather than this one.

Llorente in his role as third choice striker behind Kane and Son would be acceptable if we strike out on other options, especially if we aren't paying him 100k/week again.

We won’t have room for him or any other non-HG backup striker unless we shift another non-HG player (and this doesn’t include Jannsen or GKN, who weren’t on that list anyway).

GLC would be the 17th non-HG player as it stands.

Personally, I’d rather use a non HG spot (if one is created by shifting Vic preferably or even Lamela?) to get a top class LB (assuming Rose does go). If we really add GLC, Sess and keep Eriksen we should have plenty of options up front (Son/Moura, Dele/GLC in false 9, Parrott, Vertonghen) if we end up in crisis or HK needs some rest.

Worth noting that whilst Parrott would qualify as U21 in PL, he'd still take up one of the 17 overseas slots, as is neither HG nor U21 for the CL until next season.

He needs 2 full seasons registered in England for the CL in order to be on the "B List" (U21), and his scholarship started last summer.

In a dream scenario where we register GLC and Eriksen, we'd need to sell either Wanyama or Dier in order to register Llorente (or Parrott), so assuming that's the delay.

Has foyth not played two years at the club and is still under 21? Therefore doesn't need to be registered, so we do have a slot?

Stone me, I think you're right.

Rules for the CL 2019/20 season state.

"A player may be registered on List B if he is born on or after 1 January 1998 and has been eligible to play for the club concerned for any uninterrupted period of two years since his 15th birthday by the time he is registered with UEFA."

So I'm talking rubbish, we currently have 2 slots left for (hopefully) GLC + Llorente or Parrott.

I get the sense that Llorente is a backup plan depending on signing a more elite Forward/Winger and Parrot performances in pre season.

Plan A) Get Bale on a cut price deal/loan.
Plan B) Get Malcom who Barca will need to sell
Plan C) Bergwijn or Zaha or other Winger/Forward
Place D) Parrot
Plan E) Llorente

Parrott would count as homegrown and under 18.
