He's got previous for carrying a Spurs team and pulling goes out of his arse to win us games we shouldn't have, so he'll probably do just fine if he comes back, which he won't...
That was in the past - let's be honest we don't really know what Bale we'd get back, if at all. If he can make a contribution then great, but as much as I'd like to see him back, I just don't feel that it'll be anywhere near the old Bale we let go years ago, which was what? 7 year s ago!

Pull the fkng trigger Levy. The lift for the club and players would be worth the money alone.

To be honest, signing him and expecting him to carry us through dreadful performances like today where the team feels lifeless, will be like he never left.

He carried AVB that season, perhaps that's the best Jose can wish for right now?

I think we actually need him now rather him just it being Levy going for it for PR purposes. We have little to no x-factor in our team. Bale, even at this stage in his career, can break games like that. Even just to have the threat from range that he brings since we struggle so much to work it towards the box. His arrival really would inspire a fairly turgid group of players and a disgruntled fan base. Not much faith in Levy to get it done though.

Heart says yes head says no. I still seriously doubt this is going to happen, but if it does, you know he’ll get injured in the first game or 2 anyway.

Dont want him back just to save Jose.
If Jose is not good enough we should just get rid.
Actually think will take more than the old Bale to sort this and not quite sure how new Bale measures against that.
Will probably take quite a few changes in personnel too based on today.

Im in 2 minds here. We desperately need a quality CM and CB but we could also do with the lift that getting Bale would bring. Someone needs to get Joe on the horn to invest some cash.

Just don’t see Jose as the problem. It’s the players. Same set, from last year who are listless, lazy and careless. Bringing in Bale would actually be very smart right now. Rising tide raises all boats, and I believe having Bale back, at the stadium, on the training fields, will give everyone a huge lift. It will force everyone to up their game. So, I’m definitely in the camp of thinking this is very much worth the investment.

Yeah I agree and my comment was more tongue in cheek. It was my way of saying that Jose can't save himself.

Genuinely can’t think of one of top quality creative central midfield player that would be obtainable for us though. Zaniolo seems like someone the club likes but Roma didn’t want to deal and now he’s injured long term again. I don’t think we could get anywhere near Grealish’s price tag now. I think an elite creative player would be the best option. But I don’t see who’s out there to go and get.

I don’t think he will either, but if fit he’ll be a damn sure better than the majority of our team. And if we are going to persevere with a game plan of no possession then we definitely need match winners to produce something out of nothing.

That's how I feel.

I do agree that the lift would be superb for the club, Jose and the players but at the same time it won't take long before things settle down again or Bale gets an injury.

We'd still be lacking a box to box cm, cb and LB.

If Bale had have played today there's every chance we'd have scored when doing ok, so that is something to consider. But he likely will take time to get up to speed and in the meantime we have other issues.

Today was inept... but I think Bale would make a big difference because of attitude, confidence and the right kind of arrogance.

I honestly don’t think Winks, Davies, Sissoko, Lucas are lazy... I think it’s a total lack of confidence in their own ability, which is really hard to fix. Winks won’t play a forward pass because he’s scared to give it away and the others take three touches to control the damn ball.

We need winners who want the ball and will inspire the lesser lights to find they’re bollocks...
