Can we not make what should be a really enjoyable thread yet another Levy good or bad debateThere are enough threads in Spurs chat for that.

He’s done some good stuff, some bad stuff, and a fair bit in between. Really not worth the circular discussion of what merits outweighs what failures and vice versa.

Supporting Spurs boils down to more than whether you like the owner or not, or at least it should.
Nobody has said Levy is bad. But give me time, i'm just warming up :D

Yeah, I suppose, lets enjoy Levy's moment in the sun. The cost of lathering that noggin with Piz Buin has tripled so he won't be in it for long.

Favorite part of the transfer window is the watery-eyed romantic verbiage that gets shoveled out from ITKs and journalists. I get that Fabrizio is Italian, but how does he know what Bale considers 'home'? Has he just gotten off a call with Gareth and asked him "what is home to you"?

I just think that the past few years Levy has fucked up big style on a few things, mainly transfers and the squad. Fuck up after fuck up.

One signing later and he's a genius, i'm not saying he shouldn't be praised for doing this deal. i'm not saying he deserves no credit, i'm just saying that some of the words being used are a bit over the top :D

Its the polarising topic on here, its the way fan forums look at things. Your either a great or your shit and there is no in between, everything needs to get analysed to death with no one having the majority of any actual factual information. The truth is, in terms of ownership from taking a mid - bottom tier side in the PL into a team challenging for top 4 and above there are very few to have done that out side of bank rollers. None have improved the infrastructure of their club as much as ENIC headed by Levy. In fact a few clubs have went in a very opposite direction. Yes point your finger at Chelsea and City, but they are in very different ownership bracket.

Now has he made mistakes, of course he has, not kicking on when he needed to, some very dubious managerial appointments etc. Its about balancing the pros and cons, looking at the context of our club. On a whole I think Levy and ENIC have done us well, but I have no problem in saying that if we want to be a world dominant team we simply need a bank roller.

I actually agree that for Levy not to take the deal he appears to have been offered by Bale/ Madrid would’ve been ludicrous. I just want this thread to stay the vibrant supernova of happiness it has been this past 24 hours, and a discussion about Verne Troyer is the best way to kill that.

How would you describe the long term strategy that left our squad riddled with average or past it players, out on it's knees and short in several positions?
Last week ? Our Squad under Graham?

A&C ...Its ok ...U can break cover ......after he signs the evil empire will be defeated....that breadcrumb trail that you left as the founder of the BSODL was never found....

The bald midget has this in his grasp unless we get .......the last Bond movie "No Time to Buy" at which point the world as we know it here

becomes

"the long term strategy that left our squad riddled with average or past it players, out on it's knees and short in several positions?"

We do need a spare CF and a creative MF....

I think, as Trix put it, this is more Levy’s to drop a bollock on then a masterstroke on his behalf.

Personally think he was abetter player than ronaldo

Not sure about a few yrs ago, but with both Ron and Lionel getting on in years this is perhaps GB’s last chance to be no 1 in the world. So many motivational pieces out there for him / us. It’s his prize to claim.

Reliable for RM; says it’s not quite there yet as the wages are still an issue. He may also just be a mouthpiece for RM to make the deal seem more favorable...

That is a transfer strategy, and includes managers and scouts. Nothing to do with building a club that is - as I keep on saying - able to pull off audacious deals like this. The point is Levy has created the conditions where Bale is attainable, as opposed to being a complete non-starter.

Surely plenty of you have realised by now that there are a segment of people that are asymptotic about praise for DL?
Wasting words trying to comprehend anything else!

Oh fuck me sideways. Wages not settled? So in other words, we’re absolutely nowhere. This is going to be the worst come down ever and biggest meltdown in SC history. I need a drink.

I have to say I appreciate the measured response rather than the partisan approach that most take. When people just can't look at it from both sides it completely takes away any purpose in discussing things.

These places need to make it somewhat interesting. Whether that is fabricating other clubs etc. Otherwise a straight forward deal doesn't have the same impact news wise.

This is the first time this 'twitter account' has piped up ... Seems odd he has that much advanced knowledge yet most other accounts/outlets saying it's close...
