I think there has been a general malaise about the clubs football this last 2-3 years (the CL run was an anomaly IMO).

I don't expect his football to be at the same level and almost don't care. The fact he has come back is just a beautiful football moment and I believe the mental boost it will give everyone, club, players, fans etc is what can push us on and restore some beliefs in ourselves.

I know Spurs don’t get that much from the shirt sales, but there is going to be a massive spike in sales with Bale. I’m from South Africa meaning that getting a customized shirt from spurs is an absolute mission, most of my mates haven’t gotten a customized shirt in ages but with Bale yesterday they are all ordering this year

Having him out for a month is like getting the best Christmas present ever and being told you can't play with it!

Should see a lift from Moura, Bergwijn and Son though. Imagine knowing you have Bale waiting in the wings, you would play out of your skin to impress!

Two things I wonder about: All you who where negative regarding a Bale return (“all his injuries, not the same player anymore, his salaries” etc) when this felt not very realistic and likely not long ago, are you still sceptical about this, or do you feel differently about it now?

I’m still thinking about an option to make it a permanent deal or continue with a loan deal for the 21/22 season. There isn’t any info or rumours on this yet, right? I think that if both Bale and us are lucky, he can have 2-3 really good seasons left for us now.?

I still have massive concerns about the team more than anything else. I’m obviously happy to have him back and if he stays fit he’ll certainly help us but I’m not thinking we’ll walk into the top 4 now or nothing.

Naturally being Bale and Spurs I’m crossing my fingers that he doesn’t get any serious injury (or a succession of little niggling ones that keeps him out for months) but you take this risk with every player, young or old, good injury record or bad (look at GLC) and Bale is easily more than worth taking that risk for.

In short, very excited but trying to keep it in check a bit by remembering we’re not exactly a great footballing side. If we do somehow manage to get top 4 I think it’ll be Bale carrying us almost by himself. 1 thing I am quietly confident of, however, is winning something, in particular the Europa league. I obviously couldn’t give a shit about our league position if we win that and I’ll be Mourinho biggest fan if he can guide us to that trophy.

In agreement I'm afraid... Naturally our attack is going to be devastating now, but until we stop surrendering possession in midfield and linking between them and the front, we'll continue to be unbalanced.

I just hope we hit a good run of form with results while he is working his way back. Stay in the mix, get through Europa and League Cup rounds. We do that and you never know.

Yeah, attack looks great. It’s everything behind our attack that worries me.

Thank the Lord I wasn't dreaming! Going to watch the BT Sport build up for the interview. So glad it wasn't Sky and Redknapp, but instead Crouch who will keep the good vibes going as they were teammates here. Should be good.

In his interview he mentioned playing and winning finals, and the mentality that took.

Hopefully we get some decent cup runs this season, having his big game experience will be massive for us.
In terms of bringing in a 'winner' it cant get much better.

I've seen a few people on social media mention that they saw the stadium photos being taken today whilst they were on the sky walk (if you look carefully in the videos, you can see people up there). I'm surprised that didn't manage to filter through to here during the day.
People were too busy turning themselves into blancmange about the deal going to tits up to care.

Finally got to watch the interviews etc, he seems very happy to be home, after what they did to him in Madrid, I can’t blame him.

Genuinely can’t wait to see him blast one in from thirty yards.
