Hope he does well and some of the comments on here are very positive. But basically I have do idea why this guy is coming in at all. He's not what we need. Strikes me as an opportunistic signing rather than one that is part of any serious transfer strategy.

I think it's an opportunistic punt mainly driven by losing Sissoko for months. I'd imagine he'll find the EPL very hard work, especially having been sidelined for a long time.

He's young energetic and has good technical ability; this forms a good base to any player. We can hone his mental skills as he develops.

More experienced than I realised to tbh has 12 CL appearances. Only made 2 starts in December but young and has that wirey frame that doesn’t take much to get fit. Wouldn’t be that shocked if he started in CM.

I kinda agree but id be more perturbed if we spent the 50m on him now rather than a DM or forward but the fact that thats later down the line - i dont think it is a ludicrous decision by us.

If Jose already likes him more than Skipp, maybe he'll like him more than Sissoko too. Which would make the loan fee worth it on its own.

He's a completely different type of player to Skipp. More like Sissoko yes.
