Never said they were, just said we dont necessarily have to pay 60 mill up front

How long have you known Levy ?

I don’t for a minute think it will be £60m upfront, but it could easily be £20-30m, and we’re still creating a liability of £60m.

Having said that, with the TV money and the money we earned from the CL our revenues are definitely way up from normal, although you have to balance that out with paying off the stadium.

The real unknown though is any possible naming rights deal.

Did that article linking us to Olmo mention Vinicius Junior? 19 next week RM forward.

No that was Junior Firpo (young Betis left back). The article was just listing some notable players who were apart of the Euro u21 winning team alongside Olmo

Ah yes I see now, confused me as we've obviously been linked with Ceballos

It seems like Levy has gone absolutely mental. You could easily see 6 or 7 in at this rate.

Yeah and as exciting as that sounds, if it’s also at the expense of losing both Toby and Eriksen then I hate to be a party pooper, but the reality might not be quite so good as the fantasy.

Even if we sign a lot of potentially good players, they are going to need to settle and may not prove successful anyway. At least not being integrated all at the same time. We’ve been here before where that’s concerned.

A lot of foreign players it seems like so could be reminiscent of 13/14. If this is the case people should not be expecting instant results.
I don’t think it will be anywhere near as bad as that. Even if we do sign in the numbers people are talking, we’ll still have the same core we’ve had for years - Lloris, Vertonghen, Sanchez, Rose, Dier, Sissoko, Winks, Dele, Son, Kane, maybe Toby too. It’s likely only 1 or 2 coming in to be instant starters, and a few (Clarke and S Sess) going straight back on loan.

Lo Celso is going to be an extremely fun player to watch. His playstyle is very similar to Bernardo Silva who has been a revelation for City last season. His ability to beat a man and get away in the final third is something we have lacked with Eriksen due to his lack of acceleration. With him and TNd we are going to be able to break through lines like no other team. Our play style and speed of play will evolve significantly due to the pace we now posses in the midfield. I expect a lot of exciting counters next season.

EDIT - seeing as you've apologised and shown remorse I'll delete your post too.

Agreed, this will be the main difference that will improve our attacking play. If GLC Can beat the first man with a turn, trick or dribble, the pitch will open up ahead of him and one of the other attackers will find space

we dont spunk 60 mill,

if its a 6 year deal its only 10 mill and its not like we dont have that sort of cash
Usually a 5 year contract to the player. It doesn’t mean the payment is over 6 years. 3 maximum I would guess.

And then add Moura to the equation!

Agree with your exciting counters point. That will come into play against the better teams from Wolves, Everton, Leicester up the food chain to Liverpool and City. Equally important is how we'll be better able to get through the lines of bus-parked defences with runners and passers like Lo Celso and Ndombele. Win win!

I was so excited for Ndombele, but can't see the huge potential (admittedly on limited viewing) that others are getting excited about in regards Lo Celso and him being a player to take us to the next level. That's not to say that I think he is poor by any stretch!

If he is just being added to the squad then fine, it will improve quality in depth - but if it is Eriksen out and Celso in, i'm not sure that takes us forward.

From someone that has seen full matches etc, what am i missing?

I *kinda* have a similar feeling - if only because GLC's talents aren't quite as obvious as TNDom's.

Nathan Clarke on Twitter wrote a great article on replacing Eriksen though, which mentions GLC as a solid choice in terms of statistical output though - which has convinced me more. It's worth a read: http://analyticsfc.co.uk/blog/2019/07/01/how-should-tottenham-replace-christian-eriksen/

EDIT: This is the important bit - "Under this search, heavily linked players like Bruno Fernandes and (further down the list) Giovani Lo Celso each show up with highly promising ratings suggesting Spurs’ own scouts are looking in the right places."
