That's where I am too.

If Poch was relaxed and upbeat I think I'd share that in the knowledge that things are going to plan. It's obvious something has happened to bend him out of shape.

Think about it, if he'd been told Lo Celso and Sess were almost signed up and he was asked the transfer question would he really react in that way? No, because he'd be delighted with getting the players he wants and he'd probably be happy to share that feeling. Instead he gets asked the question knowing that things have not gone how he'd wanted and that is a source of irritation.

Imagine if you were having problems in your relationship but wanted to keep it private and someone kept asking you if it was going well? It'd start to irritate you to as it's not a source of happiness and pleasantry.

I still think Levy will come good because he will be pushed into a corner - he will do it with gritted teeth. He knows the backlash would be huge and he will be aware that Real could come calling come this season (I dont think ZZ will last that long)

It all starts off positive and we all get hyped up. Then the transfer seems to drag on forever but its all assured that it will be ok. Then ITK goes very silent and media reports start to sound negative. We get the annual 'goal posts have been moved' ITK before its finally reported that its all fallen apart and its off.

Loved to be proved wrong I really would but this follows the standard spurs transfer window pattern. Love the ITKs for all of their kind info and feel sorry for them that we can all be negative bastards at times...me included :ROFLMAO:

I hear you and I know it seems it's following a familiar pattern but I think it's a little early for people to lose their shit before the window has closed. There's a fuck load of deals to happen amongst the top 6, excluding the Chavs . We're not the only ones finding it difficult to close deals. Utd have all the money in the world are struggling. European teams know English clubs have a fuck load of money to burn so will always push to the wire for more.

I'll be just as frustrated as everyone else if we don't add a couple more players but I do think we're in a totally different position than 2/3 seasons ago.

Probably, but not necessarily with Levy
Could be with all the daft questions
Could be because other clubs are dicking us off
Could be his misses pissed him off
No one knows, but we all blame Levy

I'm not blaming anyone, it migh bet Levy it might not, but Poch is pissed at something.... his comments regarding job title and feeling like a coach might be a clue...considering his job title was changed from Head Coach to Manager not long ago....

If you actually watch the press conference, he never at any point appeared to be "fuming." He looked slightly peeved at transfer questions because he answered all the same ones on the Asia tour. Other than that, it seemed like normal Poch, smiling and joking with the media. I think this has all been blown WAY out of proportion.
He was a bit tetchy with all questions asked and his response to the manager/coach question was quite prickly.

I hope so, Poch is absolutely vital to us. Levy should be doing everything he can to help him. Right now that Dracula in a PE kit down the road is getting a better backing.

Totally get your position on this situation too. I hope it all goes well and we end up happy.

The thing that worries me is Hercs layest post in the ITK thread. It is almost a carbon copy of what he posted near the end of the last 2 windows when it all fell apart.

Lets hope GLC gets done.

If my memory serves me right,. Most of Pochs press confrences last season were similar with lots of riddles and unclear quotes, it's what he does.
He and Levy are ok, I genuinely believe that

Didn't Aulas say the same before he sold Ndombele? Couldn't this just be posturing from Betis?

Been posturing for weeks? They have 3 weeks longer to invest the money themselves so they can hold out to see who blinks first. They’re probably happy with the offers but holding on to see if we’ll panic and give them the full amount

I don’t see any difference from his press conference comments tonight and during the season when he says “ I don’t talk about rumour”. He doesn’t want to talk about transfers!

For me it’s a good thing. One wrong comment and it could fuck negotiations. It’s a clever move from him. Especially in regards to this one where they are apparently playing silly buggers.

True and I've agreed with that belief throughout the summer. However, I do imagine that Poch would have wanted Lo Celso wrapped up by at least end of last week so he can get him two weeks of Poch training before the season starts.

If we are still signing him, he will likely have lost a week of that training, that puts him behind schedule and may mean he's not ready for games against City & Arsenal. Every margin is important for coaches when you are wanting to win titles.

if he was on holiday till yesterday with friends, family or partner what makes you think he would want to come home end of last week

Well yes, exactly. So not sure why so many people are getting worried by this latest report from the Spanish media

Its worth having a look at the full interview video. He seemed to me to be getting the hump with the journos asking the same transfer questions repeatedly and then replies to the final question that they need to ask the club about the current status (which is right because he isn't doing the negotiating).
In each case the quotes are taking his answers to cutely worded questions and twisting them...
Shite journos in word twisting shocker!

I mean signed up by this week so that he could join his new club immediately (today)

Never thought for one minute the Dybala thread had any legs. But GLC is entirely Levy up to his usual shit. It’s the same every window. Don’t need any further evidence of that other than Poch’s reaction tonight. Was the same last summer with his reaction then. Poch is effectively saying he’s being thrown under a bus again. The tease this year was NDombele to be followed with the selling of players so our small squad is worked to the bone.

Yeah they may well be and I agree that he can be a prickly character at times, love him to bits but he does get his knickers in a twist sometimes...My personal opinion is its transfer related, but look it is what it is...we will be fine I reckon.

apparently other reports say he joins up with Betis tomorrow
Ah ok. I intended to mean that Poch would have wanted him training with the club this week. If we are still negotiating down to the wire he doesn't get any preseason or minutes against Inter, therefore he'll likely be two weeks behind everyone.

...and if we lose Eriksen, more pressure on him.
