Has there actually been any official news on the availability of Lamela and Lo Celso?

The way the club handles news is bizarre. You get next to nothing on stuff like this, yet they couldn't wait to tell the world that Kane was out for months and instantly push up the price of a replacement striker.

Because it’s not a serious injury. They will do an update tomorrow like before every game. Which tbh is a lot more clear than most clubs do.

Why would the club give an advantage to Villa by giving them a steer on our likely starting lineup?
Makes zero sense.

By that logic we shouldn't ever give out injury news at all.
Thats silly.
But letting the opposition know a key player will be missing a few days before a game doesn't make too much sense, now does it?

Arsenal, Man U and Chelsea are notorious for this only for the players to magically heal overnight and find themselves in the starting XI.

Announcing that Lo Celso and/or Lamela are injured isn’t necessarily an advantage to Villa as they’ll have no idea how it will affect our tactics. Had Lo Celso been fit then our 1st XI pretty much picks itself.

I've never understood this craving some fans have over up to the second injury news...fans knowing about it doesn't make fuck all difference in the grand scheme of things...and surely the less the opposition know about our options the better, even if the advantage is only slight.

By never giving out injury news you would get the media speculating why players aren't playing. Deciding not to give out information whether a player will or will not play in the upcoming game makes it more difficult for the opposition to prepare.

Comes down to entitlement of fans wanting to be treated as customers as if they have a right to know.
