Well don't get your hopes up as he has 0 goals and 0 assist in 18 PL games.

Lol such a simplistic view when you consider how shocking we are as a team at the moment and the fact he is being deployed out of position, deep in midfield.

He's created numerous openings which haven't been converted too and all of our good play comes through him.

7 PL starts btw and 825 minutes (equivalent to 9 full games).

In a league he is still adjusting too as well!!

Because sometimes that happens? And also because as I said we have no defensive shield in midfield to sweep those moments up.

You'd probably notice it happen to players in Man City and Liverpool's teams except they have a Rodri/Fernandinho or Fabinho to sweep up in midfield...

Even Leicester have Ndidi to do that job. No coincidence he's missed 6 of their last 7 pl games and their form has dropped right off...

Exactly! He shouldn’t of let the players run off him. He did so because it’s not his position. But he shouldn’t of let them do so. That’s my point!

Still not really convinced. I just don't really think he is all that special. But very happy indeed that he is at least able to play 90 minutes, as opposed to certain other "fresh" signings.

I heard that stat yesterday. Look he’s obviously class but at the back of my mind was the thought that we chose him over Fernandes in the Summer.

Fernades is two years older then Gio. Personally I think Gio will be a better player at Bruno's age. Bruno is also being played higher up the pitch. I think if we played Gio as a 10, behind a striker, his attacking stats would go up.

GLC was Poch's first choice, if we didn't go for him and got Fernandes instead then everyone would be crying about Poch not getting his 1st choice and Levy not backing the manager, we were all happy with Gio at the time and was desperate to sign him on a perm so I don't see why that's changed despite Fernandes starting well for Man Utd.

Gio has been the one summer signing that has actually worked out. He's got everything except tons of pace, which he doesn't need anyway.

Yes Dan but didn’t you know Lo Celso is a new shiny toy and new shiny toys are supposed to play like Iniesta out the box and if he doesn’t then we must spit our dummies out in frustration. It’s the modern football mentality.

Fernandes is a good player there’s no arguing that, but given the cover behind him and the license to play freely, he should be playing as well as he has.

Give Gio the same freedom he had at Betis and you’ll see the same thing from him. Which he will get come the summer, if we manage to sign a decent DM.

He is playing as a deep midfielder ffs. When he has played further afield in the cups, he has scored a couple of goals. Let's not forget that he provided the ball to Aurier in the lead up to the first goal.

GLC is the first name on the team sheet at the moment. He is one of the few players at the moment who is having a real crack. He tracked back on the weekend, intercepted and made some great tackles.

He's started 7-8 league games for us, all mostly from a deeper position to one that usually creates. Give him some slack, anyone who watches football can see hes got the good stuff about him.

It wasn't meant to be a mean post, like I see everyone spamming me. Just facts.

He is the Modric replacement we’ve been waiting for!

He’s got a journey to go on before he gets there but he has all of the right qualities. Modric hasn’t scored more than 3 or 4 league goals in a season for about 10 years, it’s certainly not all about the goals.

I think he’s pretty much the first name on the team sheet right now, would love to see him have a pop now and then when he gets around the box because he actually can do it.

reminds me a little of VdV the way he moves.

He’s got technique and quality to burn. Elephant in the room is Dele though.

Dele occupies Gio’s best position imo. Cannot play both.

What will happen is we’ll accommodate both and get the best out of neither.
