The knighthood thing is interesting. Were Moore and hurst knighted while still playing or did it come later ? Be class if dele gets a brace in final and just him and Harry get knighted lol. Imagine the Liverpool petition for Henderson to be knighted.
And of course Sir bobby Charlton. Amazed Moore wasn’t knighted.
Even though he was already one of the best strikers in the world coming in to the tournament, I think he has matured immensely during. He seems to have developed a new selflessness in his game, dropping in to all sorts of areas that he'd ideally rather not be to benefit the players around him. He really is a team player, and a leader.Anyone who thinks he isn't fully fit I think has it in their heads that way. He has been excellent these past 2 games. Not off the pace of it at all. He just doesn't get many opportunites in the final third against teams that sit back and defend. All our opponents so far have defended against us. He has had to play a deeper role for England to get us playing and do a job for the team. Great team player.
no - at least not on the evidence yet.Do you think Harry has a chance to be in top 3 for Ballon d'Or if he lifts the World Cup?
Hard to score from open play if he is rugby tackled most the time.no - at least not on the evidence yet.
Even with a golden boot - unless he scores about 5 more in open play over the next two matches...
He has 6 goals which, on the face is excellent, but when you factor: 3 Pens, 2 poacher's goals, and 1 "excuse me" off his back heel - they are not the type of goals that win Ballon D'Ors
I think he'll need to do more even within the World Cup, and then continue scoring goals in the PL and CL at a high rate to have a chance at a top-3 finish.
I don't disagree - and I would add that if Sterling played in support of Kane, and could actually pick out a pass, Kane might also have more goals.Hard to score from open play if he is rugby tackled most the time.
If Kane wins the world cup, does he still have to leave Tottenham to become world class and win something? Maybe I should ask Jamie Redknapp..
Joking aside I wonder how it would affect his mentality. I’d imagine it would lift a massive weight off his shoulders. Nobody could ever through “he’s never won anything” at him.
