Please drop this notion of Kane playing deep. He is a striker that has many editions to his art.

Why? I'm not convinced being a striker and playing deep are mutually exclusive.

What he did for England was as a striker. But he was still able to roam, wide and deep, and influence the game. As well as playing on the shoulder at the right times.

Importantly, the players he had around him were quick attackers with plenty of licence to get into the box. There may be consequences to this defensively, and that needs to be considered, but it's far less binary than he plays as (1) a striker or (2) plays deep

I agree.

I guess it depends on the players around him. If Kane plays a bit deeper then we can play both Son and Moura. Two talented players with pace and want to be here getting minutes on the pitch. Kane can still play on the shoulder at times but dictate the game more by coming deeper without us being left with no one up front.

People worry about Kanes ability to get goals dropping deeper but it didn't hurt Messi in his time behind the striker or in false9

I get the feeling we as a fan base very much underappreciate him.

He absolute stinks of world class & i think only after he retires will he be appreciated by the footballing community.

He’ll be in good company. Most Spurs players are considered average by other team’s fans till they leave and join someone else. And we’re certainly not adverse to underrate our own players

Will never get over how appallingly we treated Carrick

And you don't think that the Barcelona set-up and quality had something to do with that?

Never said it didnt im just pointing out that the notion that Kane dropping deep would mean less goalscoring opportunities is a fallacy

Harry is our talisman
the heart and soul
of the club.
and the project.
I don't much care
where he plays.
He's an intelligent footballer
and his game will change and develop

If he leaves
I might go with him
Unless it's to Grimsby
as I lived in Hull for many years.

What did we do to Carrick?
How quickly they forget. He was generally massively under appreciated by the fans (it’s hilarious to hear people say Kane is as I really don’t agree contextually).

Maybe it was a case of “didn’t fancy her anyway” but I remember a lot of fans thinking he wasn’t all that. lol etc

Agree. I was one of those fans, until I got to see him live. So much you miss following the play on TV. What he did off the ball, his reading of the game and his alertness to danger were truly remarkable.

If we lose Kane as result of our mismanagement I really will despair at our club, even more than I did when we were an embarassment at times during the 90’s.

Best opportunity we have at moment to win stuff with a home grown world class centre forward, just fucking get it sorted whether it be backing Poch and freshening up squad or if he’s a lost cause new manager and again some new decent players,

To dare is to fucking do innit!

Yes he was very similar to the blind spot many have for Winks

Kane will never be fully appreciated as a 10 because he isn’t pretty on the ball sadly. Every assist for England was bang on the money but all that was said was *ohhhh what a finish*, I’d say decent pundits would pick up on it after the game but that’s bad not the same as a 30 goal a season player Kane can be.

Rival fans tend to only have begrudged respect for Kane that he has to force out of them with goals, and they’re all too quick and ready to leap back onto him. He won’t be truly appreciated until he retires imo at least by the masses
