I don't blame Jenas for saying that just like I wouldn't blame Kane for thinking that either. When being close to completing the puzzle it's not like we've 'done a Liverpool' and pushed the boat out to attain the missing pieces, we're repeatedly tried to cut corners. I don't see that changing in the immediate future either so I'd be surprised if Kane hadn't given it good thought.

He'll give us one more season, especially if we don't qualify for the champions league (I think we will FWIW) but then someone has got to pay the money to get him.

It isn't just Kane that is being linked with moves away though. Aubaumayang at Arsenal and Jimenez at Wolves are both being pushed out the door by the media at their respective clubs. As with Kane, I think they will both stay at their clubs.

I do not think just qualifying for the CL will be enough TBH. I think he genuinely needs to know we are realistic contenders for the PL and the CL every season moving forwards. If we're 20+ points off the top spot again next year, even if we finish 3rd or 4th, I do not think that will be enough.

This thread literally says the same thing page after page all because an ex player / pundit spouts a load of nonsense every other week based on his opinion.

I am amazed that chat surrounding Kane and Man City has only just started up.

Obviously Levy will say "no dice".

Will he? Harry Kane is 27 and had numerous injury issues. If City were to actually open the bidding at £200m, and we negotiated it upwards from there (£250m? £300m?), then Levy would be keenly aware that he'd probably never be worth anything close to that money again. I wouldn't want us to sell him, but he'd certainly be tempted at that point. In his view no player is irreplaceable, and that money might just help us facilitate the "painful rebuild" it's clear we need and at a time when we could take advantage of a Covid-deflated transfer market.

Some players are irreplaceable. Kane is one of them. There isnt a striker in the world who has as much to his game as him. He's the most creative player we have as well as scoring goals. I dont see any other striker in the world spreading passes like he does as well as sticking in the onion bag with his left, right and head, plus assists.
The fact he is now suffering in a defensively minded team is a fucking diagrace.

Absolutely agree. So was Gareth Bale - that didn't stop Levy selling him when the bid went to silly.

What?

Merson has so much to answer for.

On the tweet from someone who is no better than Piers Morgan (if I am being honest) £200 mill? It's a start.

Edit: Throw in a player and access to their lawyers whenever we need to get out from under ... Still need a few more quid I reckon before Levy would listen.

I guess barring the die-hard romantics we'd all sell him at the right price. If it was so, so stupid (in the billions) that we could literally build a footballing dream team of anyone we wanted except Harry Kane, it'd be obvious. So there is a point at which it becomes rational to sell. It's just how silly that point is.

Thought this was worth a post even though hes probably chatting bollocks

Manchester City has just spent £62m (£21m on Ferran Torres and £41m on Ake) this week alone.

Spending an additional £200m+ on Harry Kane would surely mean they'd be in breach of the stringent, watertight rules imposed by Financial Fair Play wouldn't it?

In answer to all those saying that playing in a "defence minded team is a disgrace " I would like to bet that barring injuries he will have his best season regards goalscoring . Jose's sides at Porto / Chelsea / Madrid and inter scored plenty of goals and I would not mind betting pretty close to their league record for a season . This "defensive team " means very few goals is just bull shit . Defensive set up means letting in fewer goals . And the way we play on the break I am looking for plenty of goals next season .

Suffering? Hasn't he just been banging in the goals again? It's been a disjointed team but let's see how we play next season, with a couple of signings, a bit more balance and a little bit of time to learn from the manager.

Suffering?

What the actual....?

Did you watch no football after restart?

Harry was on fucking fire!

Suffering, my arse....

My bet....he's going to absolutely tear it up next season and stands a good chance of winning a first, much deserved trophy.
