Kane is the quickest player to 20 Champions League goals. Del Piero was the fastest and he took 26 games.

Our Harry did it in 24 games. Quicker than Messi, Ronaldo etc.

So proud of our one season wonder!!

So many tap ins and penalties ?

Spurs tints perhaps, but I rate him ahead of Lewa. Better all round game and as good a goalscorer. Let’s not forget, Lewa plays for by far the best side in a weaker league team for team, Kane plays for a side who’ve struggled for form this season and are not even the second best suds in the division.

Finest striker in the world.
No chance. Lewa is in God mode this season
Well there's a Polish guy who plays for a German team who is in the form of his life but I get your point.
No chance? Really?

I know it's not on(!!) but I want to agree with all of you tbh. There's very clearly a top 2 (Kane and Lewa) who are in their own league just a slight step above everyone else. I really can't choose between them and my opinion changes after every game (for example, would people still be arguing in favour of Lewa if he didn't score today and Kane still broke the record?). Those guys are so close that it comes down to recency bias to split the difference.

I totally agree with @BringBack_leGin in that they play for very different sides who've already matched up poorly this season. Although they obviously have their own strengths and mediocrities (not really weaknesses per se), I believe you'd get similar numbers if you put Kane in that Bayern Munich side. For Kane to achieve everything that he's done while playing outside of the established elite is absolutely huge and warrants consideration in any attempt at a comparison.

As further evidence of a clear top 2, see my post below and an article from tonight on Rio Ferdinand putting Lewa first and Kane second (add that to David Villa going for Kane as #1 and we have a real debate on our hands!):

(I actually already wrote a several thousand word essay tonight in response to the assertion that "Kane hasn't done it at the top level", which doesn't require much context so I'll probably post it here later for anyone who enjoys reading long-form article style stuff)

TL;DW: Tammy Abraham watches YouTube videos of the best strikers (Kane named first) for motivation and inspiration.

It's odd but also pretty cool to think that there's a whole new generation of strikers now emerging that have come up idolising Kane as one of the best.

The first to explicitly state that Kane was his playing idol and/or rolemodel was that teenage German kid, Arp, a couple of years ago. At the time, it was a little like "are you sure you don't want to emulate someone a bit more conventionally rated?" and mildly amusing for most people (he was dubbed the "German Harry Kane" -- as far as I'm aware, he's living up to it by getting in amongst the Bayern Munich squad). Nowadays, that sort of thing would be a lot more "that makes sense; why wouldn't you want to play like Harry Kane?". You would just expect him to be a rolemodel for most young, especially English, strikers.

I must say I really like Abraham. No chance Spurs could get him to play backup though. Or that Chelsea would let go of their own next potential Kane.

ETA: I found a cool way to tie Arp to the Kane/Lewa discussion. This in-depth player analysis article on Arp uses Kane and Lewa as the benchmark for the elite "complete centre forwards" (written in the early summer, so clearly my favoured "top 2" hypothesis of the last year or so is not a recent one). Fascinatingly, their stats have Kane as a slightly more prolific dribbler than Lewa, which is one area in which I would've expected the latter to win.
