Just so bad. So so so so bad. Needs to be sold immediately. Bring Skipp back.
I think Skipp is a bit overrated on here. He's talented and one for the future but I think if anyone is expecting him to boss games more than Winks at this point of his career I think they would be disappointed. He's hardly done so in the Championship this season and has been much more of a water carrier style midfielder for Norwich as well.

Irregardless, I would like to see us improve on Winks as well. I think Neves would be an excellent signing for us as but with the HG issue we may need to look at British options. I wonder what Leeds will want for Kalvin Phillips in the summer.

Skipp is a DM. Which is what is needed so Hojbjerg isnt playing every single game. Winks isnt a DM and cannot play there because he has poor defensive abilities but is playing there because he is far too shit to play further forward. Skipp would just be a far better fit for us and is probably a better player than Winks anyway at this point.

If he wasn’t homegrown he’d be long gone.

Yup. It's so prohibitively expensive to buy a HG player with any kind of genuine quality that clubs are kind of cornered into carrying players like Winks in their squads. I know the idea of the HG quota was to give young players more of a chance which is fair enough but also think it's provided a path for a lot of average/poor players to come through at the same time and be kept in squads just to meet the quota.

The most important part is that Skipp needs game time. He wasn’t getting it for us last season when we didnt have Hojbjerg, Sissoko was injured and Ndombele didnt play at all, he won’t get it now either.
Recalling Skipp is bad idea

Skipp offers everything Winks does on the ball and in attacking areas (admittedly not too much) but offers 1000x more defensively. That should be very clear upon observing both players.

It’ll be the neg ratings I’ve been getting them for a good while ! It’s brilliant to see who can actually judge a player properly though it’s been clear as day for a good while winks is average and many due to his home grown status hate to admit it
Quiet is kept I think all of our homegrown prospect bar Kane and Rodon (simply bc we don’t know yet) benefit from this. Hart is quite literally in the squad bc he has an British passport but if you said ‘Gazza’s better’ you’d have got flamed, even now.

fuck sake, he was fine today. All over the pitch working his ass off. People are going to have to accept he isnt Iniesta.
OK, so you seem to be someone who's... a fan? Am I right in saying that? What would you say his strengths are? I'm genuinely asking - I'm not on a windup. I've seen lots of negatives, and so far the only positives that anyone's mentioned are that he's homegrown and runs about a bit. Is there anything else to commend him? I'd like to hear what the positives are, if there are any.

His nan loves him, especially when he takes a chocolate orange around on Sunday

work rate
shows for every pass
generally good in possession

he's an all around better than average EPL level midfielder who gives a crap. Sure we could find better but he wasnt "crap" today and he isnt why we lost.

That's cool. Thanks. I'll keep my eye open for that when next he plays.
