People always say that it was because Sissoko had to help Aurier all the time. But since Sissoko got injured I think that Aurier has looked fine on his flank. A central midfielder needs to stay central.

I hope he plays next to GLC, I think they are really good together.

But did you watch the first 20 mins v Villa? They murdered out right side, till Jose specifically asked Moura to help Aurier. We could and should have been smashed by then.

No actually I didn't. But as you say, that would be up to Moura to help (which he should). You can't have a central midfielder in a 2, run off and cover the flank half the game.

Had a few shaky moments last night, but personally think watching his performances he is playing solidly and clearly offers what Jose and the coaching staff require from him. Not that it's important, but his pre match stuff, he spoke well. Glad he is a solid part of this team, hopefully long term as well.

Did he really play well last night? come on is that the level we are at now? He was industrious but offered very little in the grand scheme of things, Ndombele put him to shame in terms of anything like quality play when he came on.

I think winks was second only to LO Celso as our best player tonight . so many people seem to not rate him I just don't get it but I tell you what I believe and that is if we were to transfer list him there would be such a scramble from teams for his signature you would not believe it .
There was a comment from some well known highly rated Spanish player that said " he was a good fit for Barcelona "
Now you can say " he knows nothing about football " when we all know that there are many different views on the same player .
He seems to be by what Southgate said about him that he is an intregate part of the way England play .

Yeah I thought so, first 20 was overran but grew into the game...him and Ndombele are completely different players so not sure how you can compare.

I know they are, however I would still like to see Winks do more, he needs to move the ball faster, and drive with the ball also when he has space. He is not decisive enough.

From what I saw and have seen under Jose is that he's moving the ball quicker than before which was a valid criticism of him under Poch where he would take a long time to release the ball, he's also taking players on more and taking more risks, other than that I don't understand what you expect of him?...Decisive? What does that even mean?

We've got a lot of mediocre players, not a scapegoat by any means. Ndombele should have been a player in there and is clearly not up to it mentally. Alli can do one. Davies never been up to it. Vertonghen well past it. Injuries galore.

But if none of the above was true, as long as Harry Winks is in this side we will not be a force like 2-3 years ago.

A poor poor player who gets away with it because he is homegrown and occasionally shows a bit of tenacity.

Nothing more than a young Marc Noble without the penalties.

Doesnt want the ball off the back four. Doesnt drive the team up the park.
Very mediocre passer.
Ball is like a hit potato when under the tiniest bit of pressure.
Not strong enough.
Not smart enough at covering our full backs when they bomb on.
No belief to play positively.

Majorly affecting the way we are playing.

He is the base of our midfield and we haven't dominated possession for 90 minutes for 14 months.

Its key to is moving forward next season to get a better player in there.

Any time Winks comes under any kind of pressure he loses the ball. People only rate him because he’s from the academy.

I don't think winks is good enough and is one of the main reasons we have struggled for over a year now. We've gone from peak wanyama and Dembele to winks who offers nothing imo. Not strong enough to provide a shield for the defense and is poor in the tackle, and hasn't got the ability or the vision to add anything in the final third. 2 goals in 4 years with next to zero assists from midfield is pathetic whatever way you look at it. Upgrade desperately needed
