Looking at Rose and Toby celebrating the goals tonight made me believe that they are fully committed for the rest of the season and are not wanting out. Not signing contract extensions however is another thing altogether.

I don't see this as an issue. You don't need three defenders on the bench against Villa. Aurier was included as he can cover both FB spots. Dier can cover CB and midfield. What seemed a bit strange was picking Skipp, Wanyama and Dier, but that was more to do with Son, Dele, Lo Celso and Sessegnon not being available for this one.

Rose doesn’t want out, it’s actually quite the opposite where we were trying to move him on.

Toby also doesn’t technically want out, he wants to go on a free (probably back to Ajax I guess?).

Verts is all speculation at this stage why he didn’t play but he was playing all through preseason and anything he has said has shown him to be happy here.
