I’m not bashing Tanganga whatsoever but genuinely what has he done to suggest he has such a huge future for us?

I can honestly only think of the Liverpool and Middlesbrough games last season and the chelsea game this season. Other than that I don’t recall watching him play that much at all? Has he ever actually played centrally in a back 4 for us? I seem to recall most of his appearances being at left back or right back...

I’m not saying he won’t turn out well but I get a sense of ‘one of our own’-itus on this.
I’m personally not convinced he’s a centre back in a two, though I do think he’ll be a good player. I think his pace and aggression, added to the lick of technique and comfort on the ball he seems to have, will have him ending up as a very good, aggressive right back who can do a job at centre back.

When you don't play your rep increases, surely you know this already.

PhysioRoom still shows him out with a thigh injury and no scheduled return date, which is unfortunate. I really like this kid.

On a side note I really liked Tanganga on that Amazon thing.
Was great to see someone so chuffed and humble. And his Dad bursting with pride.
I really hope he has a great future at Spurs. Certainly has the ability imo.
I did too.

On a side note, was I alone in thinking that Mr Tanganga looks a lot like Forest Whitaker? Come to think of it, doesn't Japhet himself look a lot like a young Forest Whitaker?

Is it premature to hope for a Tanganga/Roden CB partnership to be established by the end of the season?

Thought so.

I just hope Tanganga can stay injury free now. This was meant to be such a huge season for him.

I really hope he gets a chance again soon. He showed that natural ability to be in the right place at the right time defensively that great strikers have offensively and that is something that cant be taught... he could be as physically gifted as Sanchez without the panic and poor positioning.

Featuring alongside Michael Antonio and Wilfred Zaha in Breaking Through on Sky Sports Premier League right now.

About black players from London getting through youth football to get into the PL.

Always liked Antonio in interviews (unlike most footballers, he doesn’t speak like a robot) but was surprised by Zaha. Seen him on a couple of panel shows and he barely spoke but, as a talking head, he’s been really open and expressed his thoughts really well.

Not sure I got this 100% correct but I swear Jose was quoted in the PM presser after City game as saying we now have 3 CB’s for the PL and 2 for EL (Roden not eligible and Toby injured)

So he’s referring to Sanchez and Dier in EL and Sanchez, Dier and Roden in PL. Now has he said that because he doesn’t trust Japhet to be fit given his recent injuries or because he sees Tanganga as a full-back or is Tanganga not registered in one of the squads? Or does he not rate him anymore which would be weird as he was fantastic when he played last season so I can’t for the life of me work out why Jose didn’t include him in the number of CB’s we have?
