I don't recall us conceding any goals from Sanchez giving the ball away at the back in fact we've only conceded 1 from open play all season. You need to stop panicking.
While I age that I don’t think we’ve conceded from Sanchez losing possession, surely Ings, Sanchez OG and Lanzini goals were all from open play?

Looking at the goals we conceded against west ham all originating from crosses into the box I would say there couldn't be a better time to receive an opportunity to get first team minutes for a 6'4 international centre back who heads bricks. Even in the other games in Europe we have conceded mainly from crosses.

Rodon is very strong in the air so should definitely improve us in that area.

I also think that Vinicius will help when it comes to defending set pieces as he is 6ft 3in and used to be a centre back.

I personally think that Jose relaxed at 3-0 and didn't make tactical substitutions which would have seen the game out.

Unfortunately he didn't see the comeback happening so kept the likes of Davies, Doherty and Vinicius on the bench, all 3 of them would have helped in the last 10 minutes but all our subs had already been made.

Think the reason why Toby was on the right is if you had him on the left we wouldnt be able to pass out from the back as Sanchez is useless at passing from both sides

Did you see his pass to Son? It was about 60 yards diagonal and set us up for an attack - think it might be the one Kane hit the post from.

Goals scored by our opponents from open play is probably 1 if you don't count the o.g. as it wasn't a chance scored by an opposition player.

Lanzini was indirectly from a set piece which was cleared.

All technicalities that can be debated but it does show that we are contributing to the goals being conceded more than the opposition are being made to work for them.

The positive is that these can surely be fixed fairly easily.

Doesn't matter how tall you are if your feet don't leave the ground when you jump like sissoko on Sunday, dreadful defending

I was confident he’d force his way in at some point this season but right now I think he walks into our defence. Real shame he’s not available mid week to have a proper look at where he’s at right now.
Ahead of?

Well we only had 2 CB available yesterday and mourinho who sees the players everyday in training believes Sanchez is more comfortable than Toby at LCB, but I take your point that analysis of someone's performance should take into consideration that they are playing out of position.

I also thought I’d seen somewhere he plays left centre back for Columbia?

Rodon prefers left side though, strange a right footer does but so did Terry and King and for me he’s just gotta play.

He can’t do any worse then the shit show of defending against West Ham and he plays international football and LOVES defending.

Gotta take the chance sometimes, as Poch would say ‘be brave’, why keep playing out of form / unconvincing defenders when we’ve just bought a young lad who is raring to go.

He may make some mistakes but at the moment his ceiling is certainly higher and he’ll learn from them.

Sanchez and Toby need to be gone as soon as possible so we will need a couple more centre backs as well.

Wasn't Terry naturally left footed?

Very true, although I hop he impresses because we're going to need someone to deal with Wood & I don't confident that either Toby or Sanchez will do this. If he looks OK maybe play him in a 3 & tell him to mark Wood.
