Upgrade on Wimmer? only listened to the match on the radio

Big Kev seemed to lack the dynamism for Poch's backline....

Wimmer's currently the better defender but in a couple of years Foyth could quite easily have progressed further than Wimmer did

I don't know if you can say that he's an upgrade on Wimmer or not since I see him as CCV's replacement and Davinson is Wimmer's replacement. And imo they are both upgrades and our already strong defence, is looking even stronger this season.

A pretty comprehensive 10 min long highlight video of his time playing in Argentina. The obvious thing that stands out about his game is his technical profeciency, as well as his composure on the ball. But he also shows real tenacity, and the timing of his challenges are impressive too.

Wouldn't be at all surprised if Foyth was being lined up as Dier's successor if we get a massive bid from Utd. I like Dier as a player and a character around the club but I can see him being allowed to go eventually if he wants it and the money is right.

When I was at the game the main thing that impressed me with him, apart from how comfortable he was playing out of defence, was when he was one on one with one of their player in the box. I thought he was going to pull his shirt or try and slide in but he kept calm and put pressure on and the ball went out I think

If wanyama injury is prolonged ,I've a feeling we may see him DM.Especially with very busy October.

Right there with you two. I for one see him being a utility player like Dier and I would not be surprised if by the end of the year, Dier finds himself in the back three more than he does in the DM role as this kid has more technical ability, shiftier hips, and just has the calmness to him that Dier lacks in abundance.

Come on, people, Pochettino isn't going to put a 19 year old Argentinean central defender with zero experience of the Premiership in central midfield. Be real. Stop playing online football games.

Well, he's actually played more as a midfielder than a defender, David, if you count his years in the youth divisions, it was only about three years ago he went 'backwards'. Still, with Sissoko's 'emergence' as a central midfielder this season you're almost certainly right. ;)

No chance, imo.

We are already thin at CB, with Foyth currently the only senior backup CB. Poch is not going to risk him playing out of position.

dier is one of poch's favorite players, don't think poch would allow him to go

As said it's not out of position. All the scouting reports I've read mention him as a DM.He clearly is very calm on the ball and has great technique. For me it obvious he is technically better than wanyama and dier.I see absolutely no issue with him playing DM at all.I just see these are the type of signings we are making.Players that are flexible and can play 2 positions comfortably.Even Sanchez has been spoken about as a DM.
