Needs to be playing on the right wing. He’s not a striker. Both him and Son are so much more effective playing wide than central.
Actually Son’s most electric form last year came when Kane was out and he was playing centrally.

As for Lucas, I wouldn’t mind seeing him on the right in 433 but it’s hard to justify putting him anywhere when he seems incapable of providing an assist or creating chances for others.

Will always love the guy for that goal against Ajax however I just don’t think he is actually that good. He is a semi decent premier league winger, similar level as Delofeu, Iwobi etc.

Not really good enough for the top teams as he lacks in final quality, lots of running, hard work and endeavour, very little end product.
Would love Delofeu instead of him. Put him in a good team and he will blossom.

Yep I have serious issues with this guy. Unless scores he offers little, he doesn't seem to be able to hold onto the ball & when he passes he gives it away. Mind you that could apply to most of our forwards in their current form, but I think he is by far the worst.

If we are not buying a CF then maybe putting out wide & Son down the middle might be the better option, but I seriously hope Levy is going to stump the money for a CF even if he's just someone who can hold the ball up & bring others into play.

Moura though should be on the bench at best.

He has the ability to just score out of nowhere, but if he's not given space he's quite ineffectual.

Personally, if we could get a decent offer for him, I’d take it and re-invest in a proper wide player. Ziyech probably best bet for the wide right role.

He has skill and stamina and a great attitude, but he doesn't know what to do with it. He lacks a footballing brain, like several other of our players. Talented but so ineffective most of the time.

Would prefer Son centrally and Sessegnon getting minutes on the left going forward. Lucas has his uses, but in terms of what he's good at, he's more of a Defoe than a Neymar, and I think it'll suit him to come on against tired legs.

He seems to be a Mourinho favourite though...

I don't think anyone can be considered a Mourinho favorite until next season when he's had a summer to put his spin on things. Right now he's working with what he's inherited, particularly given injuries & lack of options (RB, ST, CM, DM). I'd venture a guess that a lot of this squad he wouldn't want to keep, but that's perhaps more my own opinion tainting my thoughts on the matter.

That's fair, he just seem to talk him up quite often.

He is a talented player but unfortunately is one of several highly inconsistent players we have in the squad.

I still can't get over how shit his pass was for Son on that breakaway in the latter stages of the game. 2v1, acres of space to play the ball into, just needs to use the outside of his boot a little to arc it out in front of Son. Instead he plays a really slow pass almost behind Son which gives them time to make it a 2v2.

Good leap to win the ball in the build up to our second goal though.

Neither of those players would bag a hat trick in a CL semi final but then that’s the elite level inconsistency of Moura for you..

Yep, feel the same. Posted this in the Lo Celso thread yesterday. It’s frustrating the hell out of me.

Moura in particular is doing my nut in always trying to dribble through 4 or 5 players as soon as he receives the ball.

It definitely has the feel of playground football.

I’m not sure it’s quite he won’t pass, I just think he has limited football intelligence.

He does give his all and I feel a bit for him having to feed off scraps and long balls, but 99% of the time as soon as he does get the ball at his feet he just automatically wants it do his dribbling thing, but yet the one time near the end when he had space to drive into and just one man to take on he then decides it’s finally time to pass..... and then under hits it.
