The Brazilian Theo Walcott.

The worst thing that ever happened was that night in Amsterdam as it gives our fans a sense of loyalty to him and on top of that he is a super nice guy but sadly he is fucking woeful.

Constantly chasing his first touch

Constantly running into brick walls

Part of me looks at him and his ability to manoeuvre the ball in tight areas at pace and thinks he could be our best attacking player in the right system. The other part looks at him and goes MY GOD YOU ARE SO THICK.

The Brazilian Walcott comparison has been with him since he joined and it's accurate. Devastating on his day, but far too inconsistent and makes too many bad decisions on the pitch. At least Walcott was able to get 20 goal seasons in his prime, this season Lucas has been more like the Brazilian Andros Townsend.

I'd like to keep him as an impact sub in the squad as I do think there's a quality player in there somewhere, but at the moment he doesn't start for me.

Obviously doffing cap to Amsterdam, but the very fact that he scored 3 brilliant goals in a half with his left foot shows how much of an outlier it was given I can't remember him touching the ball with his left since.

He's just the most irritating player imaginable. Can't remember ever seeing a player with a modicum of ability be so truly inept at passing a ball. I still don't know what his strengths are supposed to be. Watching him try to cross the ball from the right back position last night was absolutely laughable. He never beats a man, in fact he doesn't even try to. His finishing is at best erratic. He's almost completely devoid of any discernible use in a football team.

Seems like a nice bloke though.

The moment in Amsterdam will never be forgotten it was magical however that shouldn't give Moura an everlasting pass. Dele Alli's part in those goals are played down greatly he receives criticism. Moura is such a frustrating player at best his a squad player. With the addition of Bergwijn who to me is a more talented version we could reinvest money from the sale swap of Moura for other areas in the team.

I don't know if i'm just looking at things too simply, but surely you could sell Lucas and use the money to get Eze in. I love Lucas and he is a lovely guy, but footballing wise, just someone with no real position or purpose and we have enough of them already.

Moura has the skills and pace of a winger but he try to play the game as if he is not. Instead of just knocking the ball past someone he'll try to be deft about it. He never plays into the space but more plays his man; if people get my gist.

Mourinho loves him though. He's tried to sign him on 2 occasions for other clubs in the past. Which is in itself a serious concern.

Well his love for Dele is slowly dying, so we can only hope it does with Lucas as well. But i get what you're saying, he seems to one of his favs.

Can't stand him, does nothing, just runs into people and gets in the way

ANd to back that point up..

I recall at the time being furious with Lamela for not relaesing the ball. Looking back, he tried to play Harry in but Moura got right in his way

You talking about Moura or Lamela ? Both are blind alley specialists.

Don't know how he's getting so much criticism after that beautiful back assist he gave yesterday (before being overruled by var).

Nice guy and gives his all but like many of ours, he's just not that good, touch is 50/50 at best, and he has no idea of what's happening around him, so turns into trouble or runs down blind allies all the time. And while that mix of attributes can lead to great reactive dribbles where poor touches entice a defender to dive in against banks of defences it just pass to running into defenders.
I wouldn't have him anywhere near our starting XI.

We need a core of players with football intelligence that can craft moves in the tightest of spaces, instead we are reliant (and have been for too long) on individuals beating men and using in the moment skills to create/score. occasionally that is enough but the more you come up against well drilled sides the more average it looks as a game plan. and then we just look slow and ponderous in possession especially when there is no space in front of these attackers. With everyone taking 3/4 touches to pass slowly sideways and backwards.

Di Marzio said today that we are considering inserting him into Milik deal.

That would be fantastic if we can somehow sell lucas moura and bring a player we need. Though I have a feeling Milik would not be suited to epl because of his injury record. But selling Lucas Moura and buying a proper number 9 is must in this window.

If not, Just use Lucas Moura for the last 30 minutes of the game.

I've had it with this guy, just runs with it untill he loses it. Kane has him and Son around him and neither pass the ball. Waste of time
