Just checking in so i want to make sure im up to date- A player we have barely seen play but all blew up into being the next coming of Messi has gone somewhere and not played and everyone has read into being the next coming of Messi, good stuff.

I'm very much looking forward to how we can all unnecessarily extrapolate the next sliver of information we get.

The majority of talented youth players fail to make it to the highest level. Marcus Edwards the next: John Bostock, Giovanni Dos Santos, Adel Taarabt....at least Scott Sinclair, Josh McEachran and Leon Knight were decent in the lower leagues. Edwards just another in a long line of twerps like Ravel Morrison.

Speaking as someone with dyspraxia, there is no way Edwards suffers from this if he’s as talented and skilful as they say. Amongst the most common and predominant symptoms of dyspraxia are a complete lack of coordination, balance and spatial awareness, which makes controlling a football at pace difficult at even a ‘kickabout with mates’ level, never mind at premier league academy level.

Edwards it seems is a spoilt brat who doesn’t appreciate the fortunate position he’s in. I hope he matures and turns it around but the signs aren’t good.
So that's what's fucking wrong with me! :D

That's true but turning up late shows a complete lack of respect for whatever you are meant to be turning up for.

Lateness is not acceptable on a regular basis imo.

This is Norfolk lads, he was probably stuck behind a tractor

In fairness you can get sacked in Norwich for the most trivial reasons so might not be his fault

It's interesting as a conversation but it seems all we know is the lad was always late to training and probably has a bad attitude. Speculating that he may have this or that condition is leap from that.

Thinking back to your teens, I'm sure a lot of us acted like idiots or had mates who did. Doesn't mean we all had conditions of some sort, other than that of being a teenager.

He's actually running out of time to kick start the career he should have. Hope he matures enough to get himself sorted in time.

What’s happened to him, has he left?

He seems to have disappeared into the ether. Doesn’t seem to have a future with us at any rate.

I just see him as a player who for what ever reason has never fulfilled his potential or that some of us may have had some unrealistic expectations of his true abilities.

I always love our academy players coming through. However it's not possible for everyone of them to make it with us.

I would hope he finds a club and makes a meaningful career and reach his potential.

I think the problem is different people thrive in different environments.

Some need regular football, some need to be surrounded by quality players etc.

From what I read Edwards did ok in Holland last year but nothing special.

I would like to see him go abroad again and try to make something of himself.

I get the feeling he is not currently good enough for the Prem but the Championship would be too physical.

Last I heard about him he was being sent back from his loan at Norwich because he never bothered to turn up to training on time and was just generally acting like a ****. I have up on him after reading that. Doesn't sound like he has a future with us either way. Another one in a long line of players who believe their own hype before they've done anything and just fizzle out I to obscurity I imagine

From memory by the end of the Norwich loan he got praise from the manager for his changed attitude.

He was in Holland last year and seemed to do ok.

Just saw on twitter he has no future at the club, which I think we all pretty much knew. When you consider the likes of Marsh Georgiou Tracey are still around you have to think it’s attitude as opposed to a talent based decision. Thought he might get another chance after Holland.

Poch branding him as Messi-like really made it difficult for the lad. Opposition players would have tried that bit harder to shut him down and fans/pundits were all about him. Unnecessary pressure at a young age.

Another way to look at it was Poch expressing publically the belief he had in the players talent which could have gone the other way in boosting his confidence. At the end of the day the only person who could get him to buckle down and do what needs to be done to get a shot in the first team is Marcus Edwards.

He unfortunately appears to be another potentially very talented player who didn't make it at the top level. For every Dele Alli there are a thousand Marcus Edwards.

I've just had a quick google about his time in Norwich but couldn't find anything about him ending it on a high. All the reports suggest he was sent back to Spurs early because Norwich were fed up with him.

You're right about Holland though, it sounds like he did a lot better there. Maybe he's learned from his Norwich experience a bit? Either way it still doesn't sound like his future is with us unfortunately.

He does appear on the clubs website in the U23 squad page. He is wearing the new shirt which indicates that he hasn’t gone yet.
