For me, you keep Sissoko, great engine, great attitude and offers flexibility, can fill in at RB, CM and RW... For all these reasons I think it would have to be a great offer for Spurs and Moussa for Mourinho to let him go. Still has an important part to play as part of the squad.
Think we all realise his limitations, but as a previous poster said, given instruction on a game by game basis he is ideal for that role.

Love his attitude but he's just not good enough technically. He hides from the ball and it creates a huge problem in the heart of our midfield. He can't pass, he can't shoot, he can't receive the ball under pressure, he can't resist a press, and he doesn't show for the ball. There's no way he should be in our midfield if we're serious about getting CL again, given the competition around us, including Wolves.

I think that is a fair assessment of his weaknesses under certain circumstances.

When the game opens up he has more energy than most. He can carry the ball. He covers a lot of space both offensively and defensively when the game moves in waves.

Personally I think he will benefit from playing less. High energy Sissoko still serves a purpose - especially in a midfield 3.

Not that I'm desperate to keep him, but in that CL run he was for spells our best player in my opinion (maybe mostly because it felt like the rest of the team was underperforming, but still - we shouldn't make him worse than he is).

I would certainly swap him with brozovic who is 4 years younger, same engine and physicality of sissoko , can run for 90 minutes and given instruction on game by game basis, he is an improvement over sissoko because Brozovic on the ball is a better player than sissoko ..

Just my thoughts and I think the way Conte loves premier league proven players, he might take it though Conte absolutely loves Brozovic and it might not happen

I'd be happy to sell him this summer. When an opponents attack breaks down, his first thought is far too often "how quickly can I get rid of this" which see's horrendous offloads to people with no time or space and a scrappy passage of play, usually allowing our opponents to get into their shape.

Winks gets more shit amongst the fan base because we think he should be doing better, doing more with his abilities. Sissoko gets a free ride because he's a poor footballer, despite making more errors and putting his team mates in tough situations. It's baffling at times. We should not want to keep piss poor footballers.

I think we'll see Sissoko next to PEH on more than a few occasions next season and I can see them absolutely bossing the middle.
As long as we have four decent players ahead of them to give it to I don't see a problem.

If we're are planning on having zero possession in midfield I can see this being an option for sure.

That's the idea. Opposition has it, we turn it over, then get it to the front four as soon as possible.

It's no good against any team that sits back but should give us a chance against those teams that play on the front foot.

Its going to be a question of 2/3 between Ndombele Winks and Sissoko if/when Hojbjerg joins.

Will Winks be ok to sit on the bench most weeks?
Do we try to cash in on Sissoko now before he gets any older?
Will Ndombele be able to stay fit and put in 90 min performances and does he even want to be at the club anymore?

We may keep all 3 but I can see one of the 3 possibly moving on tbh especially if we buy another AM then GLC can also fill in as one of the 2 CM's so that would give you with 4 good options as well. Also depends if Skipp is going on loan or if he'll get more minutes and starts next season.

I think in a perfect world where money doesn't exist you would keep both Winks & Sissoko as back ups to a fully fit Ndombele & Lo Celso.

But I understand if we feel the need to offload Sissoko and promote Gedson to a bigger role.

Sissoko wouldn't get into any of the teams we're trying to catch, and he probably wouldn't get into any of the teams trying to catch us either. And yet there are some who consider him to be an essential player/squad member. I'm genuinely confused.

Would Shaqiri or Zinchenko get in our team? No. Would they get in our squad? Fuck yes.

Hojbjerg at DM, one of N'Dombele, GLC and Winks at CM and then one of Dele or GLC at AM.
In an ideal world Winks would be able to play at DM too, he would be the one to be replaced long term unless his defensive game comes along a bit more. Skipp could challenge him 21/22 season if he has a good loan this season.
