Was saying to my friend sitting next to me at Everton, how impressed I was with how comfortable Skipp looks on the ball at 18 years old in front of 62k fans. Confident, not trying to do anything risky or complex and gets about the midfield. I like him as a prospect. Hope he gets lots of game time in the League and FA Cup next season.

I, like others didn't see much in Harry Winks when he first started playing for us. Really didn't get what Pochettino saw in him but now he's become so vital to our style of play in midfield it's crazy how I didn't see that before. Hope Ollie Skipp can progress in a similar fashion to give us options in the future.

Thought he looked great Sunday. Very excited by him. Part of me wants to see him get a loan, but considering how poor most of them have turned out, I wouldn't hate him just sticking around and having a year full of (more consistent) cameos with us.

It'll be very interesting to see what Pochittinho is going to do with Edwards Onomah and Amos this coming preseason. Skipp has really done well hanging around , what valuable experience he has gathered , it should give he a solid foundation moving forward.

With all the talk of targets I am also hoping we find a way for our development players to come through

Don't really see it with this kid, he looks ok but meh, he's neat and tidy but that is all you can really say. I hope we don't turn into 2019 United, putting our faith in a load of academy kids who clearly aren't good enough.

I don't think you have anything to worry about there. He's only played 400mins and there's no evidence to suggest Poch would come close to doing anything like that.

Either way he's an excellent player, who is more than capable of playing for our first team.

Onomah is definitely getting sold. I hoped he would get a chance but it is clear Poch is not a fan.

That Everton game was probably the best cameo I’ve seen of him.

Really went balls to he walls on every 50/50 that was presented to him which is really the way I see him being able to impress Poch and try to convince him to give him minutes next year.

He’s got a lot to work on but if he keeps his desire at 100% I think Poch will always be willing to use a player like that.

Finding a buyer will be a challenge.. Hardly ripped up any trees in any of his recent loan spells.. Thankfully a Brighton or a Cardiff will come to the rescue.

I think I'm correct when I say he was the first to get a chance from the youth teams with poch. Certainly feel that he had the most minutes in the first 2 seasons of any youth bar kane. I think poch likes or liked him however he simply never took his opportunity.

Pochettino definitely thought Onomah had potential, bit I don't think he ever rated Onomah as a central midfielder, which has always been his best position.

Well we could maybe assume that from the positions he used to play him, which was always more advanced than the 2 cms in the 4231 which was the mainstay positional at that time.

Technically he's great, and at youth level where he's given space, he can influence the game.
But at senior level you have to work hard to get into that space to influence the game which he has never shown much interest in.
There is a mis-placed belief that 'working hard' is just something that workhorse DM's need to do. But if you watch the most talented players they are constantly on the move looking for space when their team has the ball because they want to be in a position to receive it and influence the game.

It's something that Winks showed from day one but I have rarely seen from Onomah.

Alternatively, I wouldn't mind a loan to help us bring a player in. Possibly someone like Ryan Fraser where Eddie Howe would look after him. Skipp has shown that he's capable at EPL level and a year where he'd get plenty of time on the pitch could be the making of him.

I agree with .... IF Spurs get at least 1 more DM and 1-2 CM in this transfer window. It looks highly like to happen but, well, Levy is Levy...

I doubt Bournemouth would want to develop a player for us, it's not their model.

It's opportunity cost for one. Why loan Skipp when they could buy a more experienced player for £10-15m, develop him, and have a potential £30m+ asset?

There's also the time spent integrating him, and the cost of mistakes inexperienced players can make during that integration that has no long term upside for them.

PL clubs tend to want to loan the finished article, especially in Defensive or CM positions.

Our best bet, as we've been doing recently, are loaning to cash strapped championship clubs who aspire to play decent football.

Why are people trying to criticize an 18 year old that’s been a bit part player for us this season. He’s clearly rated by Poch and has been given minutes throughout the season. When he has come on or played he’s clearly just kept it simple and tidy as you’d expect from an 18 year old. Poch most likely has instructed him to keep it tidy and not try influence too much.

There is no need to write him off or make any decision on him right now. He’s 18 and has potential, clearly is rated by Poch. We don’t have to make a decision on him this summer so why are we trying to write him off like some wanted to with Kane and more recently Winks.

I think he looks very promising. I never saw it with Winks at first, but he has proven me very wrong as did Rose and Kane. Thus i’ve learned to be a lot more patient when it comes to the younger players. Thought he played well against Everton and had looked decent on other occassions. I’d keep him around next year as 5th choice and bring one or two (if Dier is switched to centre back as I think he should be) more in. No need to send him out on loan yet. Oddly, I think he’ll get more game time if we have a better and bigger squad. For example, this season if we’d had third wrapped up as we should have with a few games to go, he definitely would have started the least few games.

Still holding out for Onomah this is make or break this coming close season. my gosh theres a player in him bursting to come imo... shoot me down. I felt when watching him Onomah hadn't yet grasped control of his growing frame unlike smaller players imo Winks Skipp.

I suppose I will be put out of my misery this window if he is going to be sold or loaned out.

Winks and Skipp should in theory be our answer to Dembele/Dier/Wanyama

Winks is actually my favourite Spurs player right now, it has been really frustrating not having him in the team. His reading of the game is like a 28 year old, definitely ahead of his time. I can see Skipp following the same path as Winks

Think this pre-season will be the making of Skipp. His performance in the last game of the season against Everton showed that he felt more at ease with his teammates and the pressure of mens football. I hope we avoid getting Ceballos, only to allow Skipp the chance to feature for us. Having Ndombele, Winks, Sissoko, Skipp, Lo Celso (hopefully)and Dier would be a good mix of CMs/DMs in a 3 man midfield. Crazy to think that he's still only 18 and has a wonderful array of experienced CM's to learn from and train with. Wouldn't surprise me if we announced a contract extension for Skipp before the team travels out to Singapore.
