Parrott has to be managed we can't afford to burn him out or under cook him the kids 17-18. He's a nice size (stature) apart from the obvious footballing and striking abilities he possess.

I like Skipp but I have my doubts...to me Onomah was absolutely brilliant at one point when he was at Villa I honestly thought he was on a par with Grealish.

Time will tell of course

Its really annoying that Jose doesnt try out Skipp and Parrott. All other clubs play their yougnsters once in a while for less important games but at Spurs (even during Poch time) we dont seem to do that

The irony of this is that it's precisely because our 'senior' players have let us down so often that we're now in a position where every game or point is vital. Yes, our senior players are more experienced, but it seems like a lot of that experience is in fucking up good opportunities.

The time to integrate them was at the start of the season.
Jose cannot afford to risk a single point whilst we still have a sniff of CL, or a chance of a trophy.
You won't find a stronger supporter of playing these two than me, but with the position Mourinho inherited he can't be blamed for not playing them.

I don't see starting Skipp as a risk - at least not compared to starting Dier right now. Skipp did actually play a decent amount for a while under Poch and did ok, and that was a while ago now. Then he kinda got left to rot a bit like KWP. He was too young back then really, but he seems to have stacked up a lot since then and I think he must be worth a go. As a player he seems very controlled and solid, which is what what we need and not likely to implode.

How many 'less important' games have we had a chance to blood youngsters in?

Didn't Poch play a load of kids against Colchester?

I'd say this might be one of our great partnerships of the coming years, but in all honesty, I don't think Troy is quite ready yet to make the transition to regular first team selection, but he won't be long. I reckon Skippy is a year or so in front of him regarding stages of their development. Patience grasshopper. Personally, I'm very happy for the club to take it's time with both young players and not rush either of them through faster than they should. The consequences of upgrading them too quickly could be devastating for both kids.

What is Jose doing with Skipp in training!!

Has said good things about him and mentions him in the same breath as Tanganga

Surely we'll see him in the cup v Norwich tomorrow?

I mean I could understand his lack of game time if we were very strong in the middle of the park but that is far from the truth and surely Winks needs a rest!

I'd love to see him get a start tomorrow or just minutes in general tbh. We're actually a little overstocked in CM right now, but don't have anyone that gives us that bite we need in midfield.

Total agreement. He definitely needs minutes and would love him to get a start. More so than parrot in my book. I'd like to see Skipp and gedson get the 2 cm slots.

Surely at a time when we desperately need a DM in our team it makes sense to play one of our best academy talents, who just so happens to be a quality young DM....

Does not matter how he plays tonight what he needs is what Kane got when he was younger and that is back to back games.

Skipp will be a very good player for us but only if we give him the game time he needs to keep improving and I would like to see him out on loan next year if Mourinho is not going to use him.

Good to see him start imo

OR Can’t believe he’s picked Skipp. Far too early in his development and a brave move from Poch blah blah blah

Edit: if we win, master stroke from Jose

If we lose. Jose is yesterday’s man

Hope he rips it up

Good luck son

If he steps up tonight he’ll get plenty more game time. Jose has no time for billy big bollox

If he performs, he’ll get games and plenty of them

absolutely, putting in a strong performance goes a long way to becoming undroppable. Something KWP and Onomah never really could manage.

Just hope people remember Skipp has not played any football for a very long time and I am not sure what we are going to get from him tonight, I do hope he has a good game because I have been a fan of him ever since I first watched him play for our u16s.

This definitely makes the game more interesting to watch, a double pivot of Winks & Skipp! Fuck yes!
