I'm going say we should have kept him. So many games coming up and still so light at DM.

We have one DM in our squad.
I think Mourinho doesn’t think he’s ready yet. We had zero DMs in our squad last season and Skipp still wasn’t playing much.

Sending Skipp out on loan was the right thing to do and he should have a very good season with Norwich and will be playing most weeks and I cannot see anything wrong with that.

If we are that short of players at any point in time then just pick Jamie Bowden who I am not sure about yet as a player but he will sit and do the job of a DM better than most.

Harvey White is not a defensive player he can play there but he best position is LCM in a three man midfield, Harvey White is a player that can score goals and you have not seen that part of his game just yet, he has also played as a LB,CB but because he is not fast you would not want to see him play either position.

I am a fan of Harvey White but he is still a good few seasons away from holding down a first team spot and he will need to get a lot stronger and maybe go out on loan at some point down the line, whatever football he plays with the first team this year will be a massive bonus for the player.

Still very disappointing that we are not doing anything with Jack Roles and if he starts the season playing u23 football it will be a waste of his talent.

We'll find out.

But we will end up with a much more accomplished DM of he gets regular game time, than the odd match for spurs. Long term vs short?
Oh I get why he's been loaned out. I dont get why we haven't bought in another defensively minded midfielder.

Yep, Roles needs to be given the next step in the process now.

I think he is a bit too old now. If he was in a championship team last year at his age then there was hope. But I think he needs at least a championship loan to aid his development. Could be a good flair player.

I would not blame him for asking for a move but he is a player that a lot of Championship teams should be looking at and I hope he gets a good team to play for this season.

I’m very excited about him working with Farke for a year. Lewis. Aaron’s, Godfrey, Cantwell. He’s got form with strong young HGs.

Also reckon it can’t hurt our chances of landing one of those players should we want to in the unlikely event that Norwich don’t come up.

Just signed for Newcastle and I agree with all of this.

That's my point. We still don't have a specialised dm.
We have an abundance of CBs if Davies is included, so it would mean England DM International Eric Dier is that back up.

But if you want to debate I'm up for it. We’ve lost some well rounded defensively solid midfielders in recent seasons. Wanyama and Dembele. Ndombele replaced Dembele and Hojbjerg appears to ge replacing Wanyama. But Wanyama was a proper screening DM. Hojbjerg is not. Now the tactical view of Jose might well lend to the new personnel, but I've always thought we needed more strength in that defensive area.

I'd prefer Dier to totally focus on being the best CB he can be.

If its a lack of squad space, I would forgo Foyth for a proper DM.

If i could choose signings to complete MY perfect squad, I'd sign a striker, a number 8/10, a DM amd a LB in that order.

Text from one of my numerous Norwich-fan mates: "Played well today - some key tackles and good positioning".
