It solidifies your point? Mate if you were waiting for the moment where Gazzaniga wasn't going to pick up an injury, a 99.9% chance that was going to happen then you chose the wrong crowd. Let's simplify it again for you seeing as this seems to register with you.

Was there a chance our only fit senior GK could have got an injury tonight, as he could in any other game?

Did a footballer get a potentially bad injury tonight?

How did that footballer get his injury? Was it doing something Gaazniga couldn't have been doing, something like running after a ball etc?

Could our only fit senior GK have got an injury in a complete waste of time game?

Clearly the chances were slim but if you honestly think it was a completely risk free decision then you're kidding yourself. For me it was the wrong call, we have far more important games coming up than a write off of a game in Munich where I feel Jose got a few things wrong tonight. If Lloris can dislocate his elbow away at Brighton, Gazzaniga could also pick up any kind of unnecessary injury in a game where we can only finish 2nd and they can only finish 1st. Barmy you can't see that even if the chances are extremely slim.

lol you've just repeated what I said in the first place, go and look at my initial posts in the youth thread....you're the one that was making out that it was a huge risk by bringing up unrealistic examples and laughable negative what if scenarios that would generally never happen., all I said that there's the similar amount of risk as him being a GK playing tonight as their is in training.

You can speak in your little condescending tones and straw man all you like, it doesn't make you any less wrong.

Listen to yourself the fact you're still saying it's the wrong call when it clearly wasn't speaks volumes of your argument, it's load of nonsense.

Please find a quote of me saying it was a huge risk and I'll gladly apologise. You won't because I've never said it was a huge risk, whereas I've constantly said it was low risk but completely unnecessary in my eyes.

Just because Gazzaniga didn't get injured doesn't make my opinion on that particular issue wrong. The chances of him picking up a knock were clearly low but I still do not think it's one the club needed to take. If Lloris or Vorm are fit I'm fine with a Gazzaniga playing but with both of them out and us going up against top 6 rivals in the next week or two vs Wolves away and Chelsea at home, two huge games that shape our league season really it just didn't and doesn't make sense to me. We had nothin to gain and much to lose even if the odds were short, it isn't something I'd have gone with but each to their own.

Injuries are always low risk, especially to a goalkeeper but there's even less risk if they don't play in meaningless games, that much is clearly obvious to anyone. Gaz not getting injured doesn't prove you right or me wrong, clearly the odds were stacked in favour of it not happening only a foul would sah otherwise and both of us have explicitly said the risk is hugely low it's just you'd rather roll the dice in what will go down as one of the biggest waste of European ties for both teams in our history really whereas I'd rather have seen us be more pragmatic and not take the chance, that's all.

Either way it's done now, and I'm sure you join me in wishing Coman a speedy recovery after his brutal looking injury merely running after a long ball in a meaningless game ;) . Seriously though get well soon Kingsley, it looked really unfortunate and I know he's had his issues in the last. Get well soon

Getting heaps of praise from Jose in his post match presser. Might be his job to lose when Hugo comes back

Didn't have a great deal to do but was excellent when he was called upon. Noticed marked improvement in the quality of his saves, he's getting the ball out of danger more with stronger hands.

Many people including myself were spitting feathers when this guy was our first 'big' signing in 2017 but he's been great. Much better backup than Vorm who was himself a decent second keeper for a time. Definitely doesn't seem a given that Lloris will walk back in at the moment.

Well he doesn’t drive back in.

Surprised by Gazza. He was great on his debut at Wembley but I was worried about some of the stories coming out of Southampton about his quality.

He’s actually been pretty good. It’ll be interesting to see if we buy a new keeper in January, and if so, whether they’re a backup or not.

Nothing he or someone else could have done with Traore’s goal. Powerfull strike in the top corner. Good goal imo

I would like him to dominate his area a bit more, but I feel less nervous with him there than I have been with Lloris the last year or so.

At the end of the day, all keepers are capable of great saves, but the best are judged on the least mistakes they make. And in the last 18 months or so Lloris is simply making too many.

Also, in the modern game, the ability with the ball at their feet has become a factor, and again Lloris is found wanting there.

He's becoming more and more confident.

He's a lot better with the ball at his feet than Hugo.

I don't think Hugo walks back in if this keeps up.
