Does he replace Sonny or Rose? Neither. Squad player with potential.

I had a feeling we were going to take a punt on a young attacking player with potential such as Sessegnon or Dan James. Personally, I would prefer the later of the two. I think Sess will be a great player, but he's not developed enough to have a chance at the first XI in our side. I think he needs to drastically improve his technical ability (especially his dribbling and crossing) if he wants to be a winger for a top 6 side. His versatility (ability to play LB/LW/RW) and age (18) certainly makes Sess an exciting prospect but Dan James already-developed speed and technical ability makes him more ready to make an impact IMO.

Does James really have the technical ability? Bags of pace but everything else seems a little bit lacking or at least very inconsistent.

I think it’s incredibly weird (and rife with a heaping amount of recency bias) to see James rates over Sessegnon to be honest.

Would personally prefer we went all in for Brooks and Grealish as far as the Home grown recruitment goes. Sessegnon does seem to have loads of potential, but his performances were mediocre despite playing a more advanced role as a left winger. I'm not sure he's defensively good enough to be a left back either, but if Poch can mold him into one, then I'm all for it. As for pIaying LW, I just don't see him as a like for like alternative to Son.

I’d love Brooks but I imagine the price for him would be the equivalent of Sess and Grealish put together.

It's all good saying that until Rose gets injured again.

I think it would be an excellent bit of business, think he'll be England LB fairly soon.

He is 18, about as fair as the finished product as you can get.

You are signing him for the enormous upside

Not sure it's fair to judge the merits of a young player based solely on their performances in that Fulham side. Complete shambles. Three managers, lots of bad signings and terrible results. Just chaos all season. He was impressive the year before and is just 18.

He did the honorable thing by staying last summer and now it's his chance to step up. 25m would be a bargain and he has the potential to play anywhere on the left, or even through the middle cutting in further up the field.

Three managers, fighting relegation in an awful side, still only 18 and he still managed as many goal involvements this season as Dele and two fewer than Lucas.

Combine that with his truly amazing achievements the previous season in the Championship at just 17 and this kid is all upside. If we can get him we should, because if we don’t we’ll kick ourselves when he joins another club, realises his potential, and we’ve missed out.

If the fee isn't too crazy, it makes a hell of a lot of sense. Young, English, can play multiple positions and has world class potential. Poch could turn him into a world beater, whether its at LB or further up the pitch.

Feel like this one is inevitable.

All for it, the days of us with our wing backs flying up the pitch were arguably our best days.

Be a good rotation option with Danny Rose

Agreed, considering we've courted him for a long time now

He's done the right thing by Fulham, so I think they will probably let him leave now
