Ben Davies played all the games after the lockdown because he could.

He won't be able to play every single game next season. So it will be either be:

- Davies
- Rose sold
- Sessegnon getting games when the opportunity arises

Or

- Davis
- Rose getting games when required
- Sessegnon loaned

Also adding another non-h/g player is going to leave us with awkward squad quota issues.

Castagne would seem to be the best option although I've no idea how good he is on both sides. Could be another Kyle Naughton for all I know.

Same here, not seen him play but have read fairly positively on his game. Just seemed like the most likely link at this stage if Sess went out and got that game time in his preferred position, or perhaps Cirkin is almost ready to deputise which seems to be being reported.

I'd quite like to see Sessegnon at LWB and Foyth at RB in the reverse of the lopsided back line we've seen so much of. I know lots of people seem to want to bin Foyth but I think it's a mistake and would like him to get a chance. Would be good if Cirkin made the grade too but Mourinho was quite gushing about Skipp early and gave him zero opportunities even though we were desperate for a DM all season.

Tanganga played at LB when Davies was unavailable last season.

I'd rather he stayed and played Europa games with us to be honest. Maybe loan him out after Christmas if he still isn't knocking on first team door.

I think that there will be plenty of opportunities for Sessegnon next season as he can cover LB and LW.

It is very easy to forget how young he is and I still think he will develop into a key member of our team.

Jose needs to build up his confidence and help him learn the role of full back.

The mental pressure on a 19yr old, joining a big club, for a huge fee, suffering numerous injuries, a change of manager and the whole covid sitiation must be immense.

The fact he has struggled a bit is no great surprise.

With the close ties we have with Parker, I think this move works for all parties.

Like so many of our young players, he just needs to play games. This would be a great opportunity for him to find confidence and form again.

Sending Skipp and Sessegnon to Fulham would be great, but only if we sign players to take their place who are first team ready (Hjobjerg for Skipp being a good example).

Invert the system. I want Sessegnon getting into those positions that Aurier did at times this year. He's far more capable in front of goal and his crossing is better too. The lad has a good brain, it's been something that has been talked about in the past, but he's timid and scared to put his foot in. This role would get the most out of him, we just need a more stable RB.

Ideally, if you have the players, you would want the ability to have one side or the other being more attacking. Then you can target vulnerable opposition players or create overloads depending on who's playing further forward

Really depends what their transfer plans are.

This is true. Joe Bryan looks nailed on for the LB spot too.

Perhaps Parker would play Sess further forward? And if that were to be the case, is that at odds with where Jose/Spurs seem him playing in the long term?

Maybe Leeds could be the better option if there were to be interest.

If we're selling Aurier and loaning Sessegnon, then having one RB and one LB isn't enough, even if Castagne can cover both sides. We'd need another RB or LB in that case.

Both Celik and Castagne can play LB and RB.

Loaning out Sessegnon would be a bad move as we need him and we’ve invested heavily in him.

Davies - defensive LB, Sess - attacking LB

Tanganga - Attacking RB, Castagne - defensive RB

I think this will be our RB option for next season. If injury happens, both Tanganga and Castagne can cover full back.

Cirkin will be understudy to two LBS and Malachi Walcott will be understudy to two RBS.

Ryan needs to decide now what he want to be lwb or more left mid/attack... for lwb he needs to learn how to defend / def positional play to put it bluntly... im not being harsh just a fact, the other most glaring thing he needs to improve asap is his strength, hes too weak and not strong enough physcially, again im being blunt but its truth.... Going forward bar the bayern goal he hadnt and wasnt showing shown any of the skill, talent he has, was far to timid and bullied far far to easily , he looked out of his depth but he has the talent and skill if not the attitude and strength. Jose may rate it him in a sense but he is not close to be a reg starting member currently i wish he was but the simple fact he is not.. a loan to fulham or leeds might be the perfect thing for him ... more fulham i would say as biesla tactically is like poch and parker style in comparison to Jose would be better. I know alot of fanboys will neg me on this post but facts and proof thus far of ryan is bascially as ive said whether u like it not, i wish it wasnt the case but we are where we are.

Agree with this, just all depends how far away Jose thinks he is from where he needs to be to rely on him.
Davies played every game after lockdown as he's miles ahead of anyone in our squad as an experienced LB and all games were crucial to try and get CL or EL footyball for next season but as you say no harm in him playing in some of these europa league games to get experience.

I wonder if Jose see's him as a LB or as a LW, he scored a great goal vs bayern away in the LAM role but i'm not sure he's quite good enough that far forwards currently so could be moulded into a great attacking LB.

I think he needs to go out on loan for a season and play regular games. At his age it's important to play and he's not good enough currently to play for us without him being a weakness in the team.

I agree it'll be a good move for him. Although it makes me think he would have better off altogether if he'd just stayed where he was. Same with Jack Clarke.

Yeah I can see the benefits although I can see him playing the majority of his games further forward whilst we would liek to like him into a left back.
Having said that next season he needs games. To have a player of his talent not getting any game time since lockdown is a nonsense.
