Dybala would be the biggest profile signing in Spurs history. Though I've said Sessegnon is one of the ones I'm most excited about, being "meh" about the prospect of Dybala in a Spurs shirt is fuckin' bananas.

Don't get me wrong hes a world class talant, in Italy, I'm unsure how he will do in England. Maybe meh is the wrong word, I would be excited but worried he would flop like a salmon. He also isnt very versatile, he needs to play centrally and more as a second striker than attacking midfielder, if he came and performed like VDV it would be amazing I just sense a flop, gut feeling.

I hope we do get this wrapped up today, because it sounds like we're going to need all our negotiators, lawyers, accountants and tea ladies on call for a hectic deadline day to try and get one or two of, Coutinho, Dybala, Lo Celso or Fernandes in!

He actually is very versatile, he can play right wing, as a 10 or up front. I don't think there's a risk of him flopping if he adheres to Poch's ethos - he would flourish and form a deadly trio with Kane and Son imo.

Everyone is saying he can play RW, I think he started less than 20 games there in his whole career and most of them only last season which was arguably his worst season. IF we sign him we must play him centrally, he doesnt have the pace to play wide, again just my opinion, but a winger he is not.

I don’t know. I remember coming home from school and reading on teletext that we’d signed Klinsmann. Not sure we’ll ever top that.

That's the only one I think could be comparable, tbf - though Ardiles and Villa was before my time. Football has a much wider reach now though, and Dybala is one of the biggest stars in the game. Klinsmann was 30 when we signed him - and in the twilight of his career I suppose, signing a world star in his peak is in the same ballpark for me.

If we announce Sessegnon today I can just imagine the amount of ‘whatever’, ‘where’s Dybala?!’ and ‘Next!’ replies to the Tweet.

Poor bloke. I actually think he’d be a top class signing, given some time.

Could help take the pressure off him a bit though.

Christian wont leave unless its to 2 clubs who want nothing to do with him. So we’re likely stuck with him amd he’ll fuck off on a free. Dybala wont be coming. Neither will Coutinho. We wont be signing them if CE wont fuck off. This iearly deadline could potentially bite us though if Madrid get desperate. My point is, those supporters will be disappointed anyway come Thursday at 5. So if Sess is done just announce it.

I still don’t understand why Levy was in favour of the early deadline. If anything it severely affects what he does best.

I thought the European clubs were meant to fall in line with us this summer. I’m sure that’s what they said this time last year.

Yep. They’ll say the same thing for next year too and the year after that and the next year before they realize how badly they fucked up.

It concerns me that we’re not seeing Fulham out there spending money yet. Tells me they don’t think is one is done yet.

He’s a spurs fan, made it quite well known on the Tifo podcasts.

From reading his introductory article for The Athletic he's actually a City fan. First game was City vs Spurs at Maine Road. Seems to have developed a real soft spot for us under Pochettino however (I believe due to be assigned to cover us a lot).

Edit - I might be thinking of Jack Pitt-Brooke. All these double barrelled guys merge into one.
