He is easily, and I mean easily, far better than any of the other top club's second choice right back. A load of our fans just hate every full back we have until they've leave
I'm a prime example of this.

I was shouting expletives from the stands and various televisions for Paolo Tramezzani to leave when he was playing for us but, since his departure, not a day goes by where I don't wish for his return.

I’ve no problem with him being back up/ rotation option. Before the lock down he was one of the most improved players under Jose. He is prone to some terrible brain farts though, but he seems like a good character to have around the squad.

If he wants to stay I wouldn't be adverse to keeping Aurier as our 2nd choice RB. Obviously he has his problems, but he actually complements Doherty rather well as a backup as he has a completely different skillset. He's quicker, crosses the ball more and is more of a natural RB than a WB. Doherty is more intelligent on the ball and better at linking up via one-twos, getting in the box and cutting the ball back to runners in the box. While Doherty will be our main RB, there will definitely be games that are more suited to Aurier's skillset, and he's much more of a natural fit than Tanganga.

Wouldn't mind us selling him either, but I think there's a strong argument to keep him if he wants to stay and we can't find a decent buyer.

As a squad player or at least fighting for the right back spot im happy with him staying, if not for his lapses on concentration/decision making he would be a very very good RB... IF he is willing and accepting to fight for the spot, fight for the team with no player wobblies then im all for it especially for the time being, we need a good strength in squad. For me he is like marmite / frustarting as mentioned above he has all the qualities for being a very very good RB except for the aformentioned above and the fact he kept playing after his family tragedy, props and kudos to the chap, ave to doff your cap off to him for that.

It is a shame he has these defensive lapses (what was he up to in that opening goal for arsenal?) and his crossing is fairly poor, because otherwise he is a perfect mourinho player. He is absolutely committed and not so worried about being a nice guy.
He came over so well in the documentary - and looking around that dressing room, he's one of the players quietly brooding, I'd be glad he was playing for us and not the opposition.

If we were to have another battle of the bridge, then he'd be in my side.

If we’re planning on signing a foreign striker, at least one of Aurier, Sissoko, Lamela, or Gazzaniga is going to need to go.

To me Aurier our, Aarons in seems the most logical way to free up a non-HG spot. Would be nice to get a young player behind Doherty as well.
True but Sissoko is easily the most expendable player for me. Lo Celso is clearly a competent CM and all of Ndombele, Hojbjerg, Winks and even Gedson are improvements on him. As it stands Dele and Dier can operate as emergency 8s and 6s respectively too.

If we can afford to keep him then would very much like to do so as a very capeable player as 2nd choice RWB and he will get plenty of games.

Sissoko definitely most expendable, but Danny Boy likes to get his money back & there is no way in any lifetime that any other club will pay £30 million for him

Capable player ? Capable liability more like. If Aurier signs a new contract that will be a disgrace.

He is a decent player not without his faults but certainly good enough to be our 2nd choice RB which he now is snd a good thing to help Ndombele settle as sissoko, aurier and Ndombele seemed good friends in the documentary

After seeing Doherty live, i am not that impressed, i know he is lacking fitness, but we need 2 RBs I do not see Tanganga as a RB.

So keeping Aurier is not the worst thing in my mind. We should sell CCV. Loan, if not possible, sell Foyth. Loan out Sess first imo.
