I thought we had to sell to buy, so surprised by this, but could just be a negotiating tactic.

I think there's a few things going on here:

1) KWP / Doherty was the real one-in-one-out
2) We badly need the bodies for rotation this month.
3) Offers for him right now are not good enough, but might go up we call the buyers bluff and use him, at which point we sell and try to replace.

If we can bring Reguilon in keeping Aurier isn’t the worst idea in the world. We would then have two very attack minded full backs and balance across both left and right back. We would have the option to play both Doherty and Reguilon or if we wanted to be more defensive we could play Aurier and Davies.

I know Aurier has predominately played as an offensive full back but he’s poor going forward whereas Doherty has a much better end product.

Honestly..watching the doc, it looks like Serge along with Sissoko mentors Tanguy. If he plays if only the situations that work with his skill set then I think he has some value as a personality.

More than happy to keep him for this season when fitness and squad rotation is going to be key to how we can manage players fitness with a busy season ahead.

If we’re planning on signing a foreign striker, at least one of Aurier, Sissoko, Lamela, or Gazzaniga is going to need to go.

To me Aurier our, Aarons in seems the most logical way to free up a non-HG spot. Would be nice to get a young player behind Doherty as well.

Happy to keep him, but don't want him on an extended contract with higher wages.

He's got less than 2yrs remaining on his contract so it makes sense that he signs a new one if he is going to remain at the club.

in order, I'd be happy to sell:
1. Gazzaniga
2. Aurier
3. Lamela
4. Sissoko

Aurier is a liability who wouldn’t get near a top 4 club let’s hope we can get rid of him

He is easily, and I mean easily, far better than any of the other top club's second choice right back. A load of our fans just hate every full back we have until they've leave

Huge respect and love for Serge... especially after what happened to his brother he still played a game for us the next day while mourning. He seems to be a fighter mentally and that mental strength can only be good for the squad.

I'd bin off Lamela and Gazzaniga without thinking. Especially if Bale signs.

Sissoko is really versatile and you can rely on him to put in the effort, and do what the manager tells him. Prior to that injury he was also performing really well for Jose. Plus, the 'father figure' role he is playing with our record signing cannot be overlooked. I can't see Tanguy adapting if we remove both of the guys who are helping to settle him in.

No wonder Ndombele's turned out that way - he's had both first class graduates in the school of scapegoating as mentors

I don’t hate Aurier at all but I’ve seen how many mistakes have cost us. It’s no surprise we can’t get rid of him.

How many mistakes since mourinho came in, and how many since the resumption after the lockdown?
