Absolutely what I was about to say re Dybala. A very good, very well informed journo!Since moving to The Athletic, he's been pretty good. Was one of the first UK journo's to pick up Dybala was off

Definitely a downgrade on Rose from roughly Feb 15 - December 16. But on everything else I'd suggest not, though that says more about Rose than Davies. Jan 17 to May 18 Davies was actually very good imo, and in the 17/18 was an unlikely creative source. He was actually our top assister in the league outside of Dele and Eriksen than season with 6, which also had him as the top assisting fullback in the league despite starting only 29 matches. Sadly it's a figure that neither he, nor Danny boy, has come anywhere near either before or since.I like Davies, but he’s always been a downgrade on peak Danny Rose. Pretty obvious he needs upgrading if we’re serious about being good again.
Levy is getting hammered all over the media since the weekend, he won’t be happy with that.
Raises an interesting question. Many suggested last season that it was purely to accommodate Aurier, that's been shown to be untrue with the purchase of Doherty. In the end it may turn out to have been an accommodation for Davies' limitations. Is this the end of the lopsided fullback system?
He broke Dybala falling through before anyone else. When it’s an exclusive, there tends to be a bit more weight behind it than the random little things they say on podcasts etc, where Ornstein hasn’t been great for us.Nah I don’t believe this. Ornstein is good for Arsenal news but not spurs IIRC.
He definitely knows stuff. Said we were after an experienced option at RB and not Aarons a couple of weeks before the Doherty stuff came out.Nah I don’t believe this. Ornstein is good for Arsenal news but not spurs IIRC.
Think Dragon deserves a lot of respect.
Think he'll be very much used to that
I hope so, such a predictable system!
There’s no way Doherty and Reguilon don’t both play most games. We’d need to find a system which gives us the option to play both, given they’d undoubtedly be two of our best 11.I think it's more that it gives us the option to do it either side. Have Tangana RB, and let him slot in to a back three while Reguilón bombs forward
Romano has consistently maintained that the buyback clause represented an impasse. Levy may be willing to make a one-time exception to normal operating procedure for the sake of getting in a brilliant player in the hopes that Madrid won't come back in for him and/or that he'd prefer to stay as first choice rather than be stuck behind Mendy. He broke Dybala falling through before anyone else. When it’s an exclusive, there tends to be a bit more weight behind it than the random little things they say on podcasts etc, where Ornstein hasn’t been great for us.
How different this is from what Romano has been saying is bizarre though.
