Lloris
Toby Sanchez Dier
Doherty Hojbjeg Lo Celso Reguilon
Bale Son Kane

Oh my god.

The inevitable come down from this is going to be something.

And a bench of:

Hart, Tanganga, Sessegnon, Ndombele, Alli, Moura, Bergwijn

‘if’ we sign Bale and Reguilon then I’m not bothered if we sign a striker or not as we’ll have an incredibly flexible squad.

I’m not going to pretend like I know the inner workings of our club, but if there is anything within Levy’s power that could have been done to move some of these players that have absolutely no future with our club on that we just let fester, then he deserves some blame. Especially if these sales are preventing us from being able to make a move for a player like Reguilon, which in turns improves our squad. In the end, if Reguilon wants a move to United, that’s all well and good, but it just feels like we are perpetually hampered by our inability to move on players. “It takes two to tango” is very much a reality in the transfer market, but sometimes it just feels like our valuations for our shitty players is completely delusional.

Levy's too busy wanking himself stupid over Bale at the moment. Everything else seems to have gone deadly quiet and personally speaking I don't give a shit whether we sign Bale or not. There are much more important areas that should have been sorted by now but (as I said ages ago), Bale could very well be the distraction that causes us to miss out on other deals. Wouldn't be surprised if we end up with nothing or some real junk at the end of the window.

why are Real Madrid happy to let him go? Just deemed to be behind Mendy and Marcelo?

I can’t see them letting a young player leave with no buy back option - especially with the age of Marcelo now...

Rumour is they want a buy back option so they clearly rate him but just can't fit him into the team at the moment.

What if we’ve said to Madrid, we’ll accept any buyback clause (that United apparently won’t accept) in a deal for Reguilon, if you help us along with Bale too.

might work.

I gotta say I am a fan of the tactic Jose employed Sunday. Have us look absolutely listless in order for Levy to open up the purse strings a bit.

A lot of people seem to think we can't play with 2 offensive fullbacks unless we're playing 3 at the back.

I understand why you might think this, and it's certainly a possibility, but when you look at Liverpool's fullbacks - I wouldn't say either are particularly outstanding defenders. They're definitely good enough but the majority of their game is about attacking. They're obviously also helped by the fact they have Van Dijk behind them. Leicester is another example who last season had 2 very offensive full backs, playing in a back 4.

I think Regulion and Doherty are good enough defensively, so think it's impossible to see us line up with them both in a back 4.

However, if we do continue this wonky back 4 formation, we could see a rotation between Davies at LB, Doherty RB and someone like Foyth/Tanganga RB with Regulion at LB.

Either way, if it happens, this is a very good signing for the club.

As long as buy back is 2 yrs out and at reasonable profit, would be dumb for us not to gladly accept.

What’s worse is that I’m bouncing from Bale thread to this thread like I’m trying to choose a night between either Margot Robbie and Mila Kunis......ultimately I’m sure I’ll be left empty handed but atleast it’s fun!
