I don't think it's a foregone conclusion they'll come back for him. They're hardly flushed with cash these days, and it's going to cost them £45 million to bring him back. That's £45 million they could put towards Mbappe, or whatever galactico it is they'll trying to sign in '21 and '22.

In the meantime, let's still play him a lot and shower him with love, as YS says. Can't hurt.

They also have Ferland Mendy who is only 25 and highly rated. Hopefully he continues to be a key player for them over the next few years and they forget Reguilon existed.

2 years are such a long time in football. Who the heck knows how the situation is by then.

Maybe the market develops during Corona as bad that even Real can not afford 45m for a LB? Who knows.

The great thing is it is not just a loan deal to improve him for another team, he is actually our player and we get a nice little profit in the "worst" case, that would mean he impressed here a lot.

Can't Madrid buy him back at the fee we bought him for and it is only summer 2022 or have I got that wrong?

Yeah did we ever find out definitively if the buy-back is
  • open ended for any time within two years
  • only active during winter and/or summer windows within those two years
  • only active during a set period at the end of the two years?

I shouldn't worry, Spurs will be the biggest club in Europe in two years, we're gonna be where it's at.

The buy back isn't for the same price it's higher, reputedly £45m but the devil will be in the detail. I'm willing to bet the payment scheme hasn't been agreed so Daniel Levy will demand it in one lump sum cash in delivery.?

Think Ally Gold mentioned in one of his videos that the buy-back could only be exercised in the summer windows of 2021 and 2022.

How the fuck is Marcelo only 32? My first memory of him predates that of my grandfather.

The one that got me the other day was Theo Walcott - thirty fucking one!

It seems like yesterday he was 16 and thrown in the England squad. In my head he is still a promising youngster.

Regulion, Davies, Sessegnon and Cirkin in our ranks.... that’s amazing depth to see when it comes to LB options long term.

Ahh ha; I knew it'd come to me after enough beer consumption...

You won't see a better worse effort this week!

"Put some magic in the number three for me, and give me some Reggae Regulion. Hot Reggae Regulion.

He's so nice It's like signing Gareth Bale twice - he's named Reggae Regulion. Reggae Regulion!"

(admit it slags; you love it really  )
