Video looks like he should be holding up a paper with today’s date on it as proof of life.
Can’t believe someone identified the hotel from a bed, I bet someone’s gone to the hotel to dig more as well...

Agree, especially on DM - I cannot fathom how poch and now Jose may pass over a transfer window without addressing what is a very obvious gaping hole in our team..

January isn't easy. I'd rather wait til the summer to get our Fabinho/Fernandinho/Ndidi than get a half baked version now. January's are rarely for getting your number 1 priority. If we don't address it the summer then I'll worry

Couple of things I've noticed.

1. He has abit of the 'Sterling' about him.
2. He has no neck whatsoever.

So tomorrow we can expect a new signing. PSV coach confirmed he’s off to London to sign

Like many here with strong opinions based on very few facts, i became an expert by watching a few youtube videos on him. The one thing i did like was that he demonstrated superb vision and touch in those clips. There was quite a bit of space and the players off the ball made great runs, but he still made the pass (ahem sonny). Most of his clips that i saw were open play, but does look promising.

As far as I've seen it, chronologically:

- PSV said we had made an offer
- PSV left him out of the squad
- Dutch media said he's refused to play and has absconded prematurely to London
- Player posted a video from a London Hotel saying he's done everything as expected and is a bit confused about the backlash
- PSV manager confirmed he said the player could go over to London to sign for us
- Some PSV bigwig has said that there's been no offer and no reason for Bergwijn to be here.

Seems like literally no one involved knows what's going on.

Would be a brilliant piece of business and signing. I'm a lot more hopeful that under Jose we can do a good re-build, I liked Poch a lot but I don't feel like he had a plan or had confidence in his own plan and I don't think he has as good an eye for a player as Jose has and Jose has more agent connections etc. All positive.

We've desperately needed a pacey wide option with quality for a long time, we have tons of n.o10s and players who can play in the pockets but especially with the new style of play Jose wants to get us playing, another WF is very important, this guy is about as good a 22yr old as you can get and shopping in dutch league is a clever move as they're cash strapped so can get good players at better value.

If we can get Bergwijn in and a ST thats a very very decent January considering we barely ever sign anyone in Jan, if we can get him + as ST + a DM then thats a bloody fantastic January and the re-build will be very much up and running. We'd then probably just need 2-3 big signings in the summer mainly in defensive areas.

Most important thing as it has been for the past 2 windows is actually loaning or selling players we don't plan to use in the short or long term:
Eriksen
Foyth! - loan?
Parrott - loan
KWP
Rose!

If we can get 3-5 of them out that will be a big plus.

Think the point is that Lo Celso, Winks, Fernandes and Ndombele are CMs. Whereas Bergwijn is a wide forward so he will only be competing with Alli, Son, Lamela and Moura

You’d have to say out of those he’s competing with, Alli - for the first time since joining - really has his place under threat now

Looks like he’s happy to pass. We’ve got too many final third players who want to shift and shoot JD style, this would add another dimension to our play.

Son tends to ignore everyone, welly it into Row Z, then looks around in complete remorse and horror that all of a sudden there are 10 players also on his team

It feels to me like the manager gave the player permission to be away from the squad and the club hierarchy is throwing a strop because the club was publicly embarrassed by his surprise exclusion from the matchday squad. Hard to say without knowing what took place behind the scenes but the manager has been clear that he had given the player his okay, so hopefully cooler heads will eventually prevail and whatever damage has been done to the CEO's ego won't scupper the deal.

Someone posted earlier they thought he looked like Son but got his head up to see the pass, someone else said Son was better but I get what the poster means when you see the video
