Thank god we’ve appointed a top sports scientist to the coaching group.

Oh no, it’s the manager’s son with a degree from Southampton university. That should help!

That's fucking awful when you think about it

I guess it's ironic that the 'be careful what you wish for' BSoDL's did warn us: 'what if we sign someone and they get injured straight away and then we do a Leeds'...

Apart from the fact that he will be working under Dr Mughal (who is head of medical and sports science) and with other qualified and experienced people.

Funny though.

Still doesn’t seem fit, since his goal against Villa he hasn’t done anything to convince me yet.

Obviously he needs to settle into the team etc, so hopefully he will push on.

So far he reminds me of Yaya Toure, not so much for his driving runs but his ability to look fucked after 15 minutes

He's clearly not 100% match fit. Could take a few more weeks before start to see the real quality he has.

But there were a few glimpses in the first half as to what he's all about. He's very direct, can take the ball on the half turn and really fizz those vertical passes into feet very effectively.

He'll transition our midfield into attack much quicker when he's up to speed.

Never quite understood the "match fit" comments from folks. I mean unless they are coming back from injury or a legitimate length of holiday and are packing a few pounds, every professional footballer should be able to not look labored as much as he does/has. It's a month into the season and he had a full preseason - there should be no excuse. With that being said, I think that definitely applies to this lad. Either that or he's just one of those players that just have that sort of style - I remember Capoue looking even worse in terms of looking lethargic. He's obviously a very skillful player but I think if he is too succeed and not be a youtube compilation player he needs to play with more energy. It's not like he's a forward, he's supposed to be an engine for us in the middle.

You can already feel people are itching to jump the gun on this guy.

Fuck me, he's played a couple of competitive games for us, and has a goal and assist.

He then got injured and came out of the team, back in tonight after a cameo at the weekend... A team that saw several changes and with a CB at RB and we looked disjointed...

Bit of perspective before we start sharpening the knives ?

I think he'll be massive signing for us.

If you're referring to my comment, I'm a big fan of him and his potential for us. I'm not one to pounce on misplaced pass here and there but i'm really just trying to assess his game as i've only seen YT compilations. He's obviously very talented but so far his energy levels are very lacking and tbh for me that is the bare minimum.
