Dele can easily play in the midfield 3 in a 433 or one of the forward 3 predominately on the left. Football has become so defined and we now have a manager that is about the detail. without meaning to compare ideally ( until we can spend on specific/specialised players) we need to get to a state of playing whereby the players are interchangeable, what I mean for an example in a midfield 3 potentially of Lo Celso Ndombele Alli all will have the same responsibilities to defend and attack and dove tail.

He could but it doesn't get the best out of him so it's pointless.

I was laughed at when I said McTominay is a better player than Winks. I know it would wind people up on here but many a truth said in jest.

For me one player impacts games positively and influences the midfield and gains a grip on it, offers a goal threat and helps defensively, and the other is Winks.
You said Alli was useless also

Ndombele and Lo Celso yes but no Dele in a 3
Agree, he plays deep the same way he plays when he's up top. All little flicks and tricks which are too dangerous near our own box. I also feel that this formation based around Dele doesn't get the best out of Son and he is on the periphery a bit.

For you maybe it's pointless. For the team it might be worth it, if we can get Ndombele and LoCelso into the team.
So you want Ndombele, Lo Celso and Alli as our 3 man midfield?

Surely Alli has shown time and again he is more effective playing further up field and a midfield 3 usually wants one more defensive minded mindfielder.

Dele is on fire at 10. Why is it being suggested to move him? There's been an obsession on this forum for years with some posters about this mythical 433 that will solve everything.

Alli should be in the front three. Clearly.

Dele is on fire at 10 with licence to roam. Why is it being suggested to move him? There's been an obsession on this forum for years with some posters about this mythical 433 that will solve everything.
Because um combinations or something.

It's really difficult to accomodate Kane, Son and Alli in the same lineup with the poor midfield combinations we have. Either we play 3 in midfield, or maybe drop one of the front 3 as all of them prefer to be central.

BC started it, because Arsene Wenger played it.

Mason always knew what he wanted to do in CM and was utterly committed to doing it. Despite much greater skill, Dele has so much less willingness and conviction about how to play there that he's never exerted as much control over a midfield as Ryan occasionally did.

Every time I see him enter on to the pitch he reminds me of a Sunday footballer who has had call from his mates 30 mins before kick off to get out of bed and come and play as their short.

On the ball he is very good, off the ball is going to be an issue unless you give him a free role.

You will only get the best out of Ndombele once you have a top drawer DM that's disciplined, sacrifices himself for the greater good and can cover every blade required for Ndombele and both full backs to add threat. We need a reader of the game, someone who can sniff out when a team, ate wants to do something and where he is best to shift to in order to defuse any kind of threat a hindered attack from one of our boys may face.

If we get our DM right we'd basically create the opportunity for Tanguy and 2 full backs to flourish. It's very tough to call but Ndidi has all the tools to unleash 3 individual areas of our play based on what I've seen from him so far. Getting him is a different thing altogether as he would probably end up being a record transfer fee. It would be worth it though as you'll get twice the Tanguy for your troubles in doing so.
