I still reckon him and Clarke will be our only signings

Can I just say that the evening of Tuesday June 25th, when Di Marzio reported we’d made an acceptable offer for Ndombele, which was then progressively backed up by more and more French sources, and then English sources as well, was one of my favourite nights ever on SC. Absolute carnage and mayhem.

I would be very surprised if we didn't add at least one Sessegnon. I'd be slightly surprised if we didn't add one more midfielder.

But for sure it's very consistent that we all get carried away at this point. I can definitely see us not willing to budge on Lo Celso or Eriksen, and those deals not happening, and Ceballos staying at Real.

So if the (hypothetical) ideal (realistic) scenario is:

DONE
Ndombele
Clarke

ONGOING
Sess
Sess
Saliba
Lo Celso - possibly Eriksen dependent (not for discussion, just my view on balancing funds)
Ceballos/Other

...of that latter group, we may well end up being slightly underwhelmed, simply because transfers appear to be bloody hard to do at sensible prices.

Ultimately, we've got Ndombele and I genuinely feel of all the above he was the most important

We can balance funds by selling jannsen, ccv, onomah, edwards etc... So might not be eriksen dependant but i'm sure we will have to unload some players to get our other targets in especially as we have bid for saliba.

In theory yes, but shifting our deadwood recently has proven harder than Del Boy shifting some of his broken gear :D.

You would have loved SC circa 2006 to 2010 then. That was a mad time. Every day the Daily Discussion Thread reached at least 50 pages and there was rarely a day without at least 5 or 6 bits of ITK.
