I love that we just had like 2-3 pages of the same exact post. We all know he's unfit, we all know he's talented, and we all want him to get fit so he can show off that talent for more than just a quarter of the match. Give the *KID* time. Might be best to throw our support behind him, instead of lambasting his chubbiness, languid running style or general perceived laziness at every opportunity. And yes, we all realize how much he cost, that he's a professional and that you just "want to see him perform to his true ability."

For the time being I think we just have to use him as a impact sub as thats when he seems to be most affective, maybe thats the sweet spot for him as the opponents tire and he can cope with the game at that pace?! This guy is a fucking enigma:confused:

He's obviously had injuries but it is a little odd how even when fit he can't manage 90min. I mean, he's a professional footballer playing at the highest level.

Really hope he can stay injury free and be fully up to speed next season.

Also reminded me of Jamie Redknapp running around the centre circle
Very harsh imo

Not sure it is

A couple of exquisite pieces of play in the first 20mins but apart from that an absolutely horrendous performance in terms of helping his side out when not in possession etc etc

Jose probably cannot quite believe how unfit and lacking in mobility he is

Shocking. Should seriously apologise to his teammates and us for being in that state

I’d friggin freeze his pay and send him off to the army for a month. Not for the weapons training and killing stuff, just the fitness...

It’s the desire aspect. That’s what worries me. Lo Celso has it in bucket loads. Come on Tanguy.

Ive been hitting the gym recently. I started off running out of breathe after like half hour but still persevered. Now its like an hour.

I guess you can build fitness through playing games i am presuming? Stamina may be an issue. VDV used to run out of gas after an hour then again he was like eight years older...

It is startling to see but im just thinking a run of games will improve that (maybe hopeful)

Yeah but as was discussed last time this topic reared its head, a lot of posters aren't addressing the real facts of the matter. They frame it like it's a bit of rust after an injury lay off. But that's not it.

He isn't building up his fitness because he came to us and demonstrated exactly this in pre-season. Out of puff after 15-20 mins, being excused from some of the games etc. for 'special training', and so on. For over 6 months now there has been basically no improvement on his ability to get through a game - bar that Norwich one which at the moment looks like an anomaly (and even in that game for his ok work with the ball, defensively he was constantly flailing). He's not nursing his way through nearly 90 mins or even an hour, he's totally fucked after a quarter of the match. I've quite honestly never ever fucking seen this before where a pro footballer can only get through a small portion of the match, as you'd said even such non-athletes as Van der Vaart could waddle through an hour or more at their own speed without their heads between their knees gasping for air every two mins. There is something very wrong here, either there is a medical issue (I'm not talking injury/muscles here either...…) or his standards were when he joined and continue to be shocking in terms of keeping himself in shape. Whatever the case, I hope someone is getting to the bottom of it.

Until he can get through somewhere near 90 mins at an acceptable standard, most likely we wont see that as it would have to be in a full on practice match or the U23's, he cant be trusted and it will have to be bench cameos.

He didn't look comfortable in the situation. It was an opportunity. Mourinho picked him and challenged him to bring his game. Im really disappointed he really didn't show up so much. Yes others were also terrible but the magnifying glass was out for Ndombele due to him having injuries and Mourinho making the point. You have to put yourself aside and give it everything.I don't think he did
This wasn't after 20 minutes. It was from the off.
I think he is tremendously gifted with talent but you always have to earn it.He didnt

The point is that he is not fit at the moment. He is just injury free. He is going to take time build stamina and match fitness (which is about getting used to the pace of the game). Give him some time

Wasn't Lemon our resident doctor on SC? Maybe we could get him to diagnose Ndombele. Maybe he has a breathing ailment, or possibly a bunion on his foot, or could it be that he should be eating more foods high in fiber?

That was poor. He has talent but with that physique and attitude he won't cut it in the Prem. Could be a game changer in the Champs league but what manager would start him in those games when he can't pick up the slack in others.

I also think not sure what we were trying to do and for a lot in the first half the passes were going down the Moura and Son to no avail. Very disappointed in both Ndombele and the tactics

I’m starting to think he has asthma or something if it’s not that maybe he’s got a broken nose and can’t breathe or something.

It’s crazy I’ve never ever seen anything like it!

Think it’s very harsh that a lot of you are ignoring the fact he’s had multiple injuries and Mourinho has hinted that it’s affected him mentally.

Give him the benefit of the doubt this season and judge him next.

He has the potential to be the best midfielder on the planet and that’s not even an exaggeration.

On the ball, he looks ok. Off the ball, he looks horrible. Don't know why, but he just looks physically unable to do the job.

Zero work rate, jogging back to track Shane Long very early in the game.

From what we are told this is the guy Poch wanted the most, but he’s the most un Poch like player ever. Ditto Jose.

bring back Juande - he had a team nutritionist telling everyone what to eat.
