One thing's for certain - if he carries on with the half-arsed approach he'll be making himself very unpopular with his team mates as well as the supporters.

Well, if understanding something taken from social media and then brought to the attention of your boss at a press conference doesn't motivate you in some way I'm not sure what else will.

So I am guessing that Alasdair wants him out by trying to embarrass Ndombele at the press conference. Sad really.

Not sure how you arrived at that conclusion.

If anything his response below makes it look like he’s digging out our recruitment.

Yeah, have to say that I'm anxious as Ndombele is reminding me more and more of Paulinho, who I fucking hated by the time he left Spurs. It's so annoying because it's abundantly clear that Ndombele is an excellent techincal player who - if the physical and mental aspects of his game were even just up to a bang-average level - would easily be one of our best players, but as things stand he's starting to nudge into Paulinho territory for me. And he can solve it, if he wants to... but if he doesn't then he can fuck off out of N17 with the same haste that I wanted Paulinho out with.

I had the same feeling re Paulinho,I just think NDombeles good qualities are better and maybe his bad qualities are worse than Paulinho.
Shame to waste

Sissoko is mentoring him, if he does the same and starts working on fitness he will be great for us, otherwise he will be useless and sold. I'm not really worried either way, worst case he will still have decent resale value.

Paulinho is a fair comparison. In the end we were able to recoup most of our outlay on him thanks to lavish Chinese spending, but I'd be surprised if there were any team willing to pay what Levy would want for Ndombele at the moment. We'll likely have no choice but to persist with him and hope that he gets his head on straight.

Luckily the things that are wrong with him are fixable. You can't coach his ability on the ball or his vision, but you can coach positional discipline, and things like desire and fitness can come with maturity. We've got to find some way to get him motivated somehow. The one thing that does give me hope is that he was in a similar position earlier in his career after being let go by his academy and he found the discipline to battle back from it.

I think the difference between now and when he was being let go by his academy is that he's already got his payday. He could never play a game again for us and retire in 5 years a millionaire many times over.

I get the impression that he's so talented that he's never had to really buckle down and bust a gut. Unfortunately that doesn't wash with us and rightly so. Call me old fashioned but I'd sooner have a technically limited Sissoko than a cant be arsed Ndombele in my side.

There must be a load of odd stuff going on behind the scenes that we're not hearing about with a player problem like this.

Does he train well , is he turning up to training ? Sneaking crafty pizzas ? Impressive silence from all at the club...til the Amazon film comes out !
Mourinho said all about this. He said he needs a global program to improve him. That alluded to fitness, diet, lifestyle etc. We need to work incredibly hard to bring him up to the required standard. Everything else is there for him.

The IF is too late I am afraid. It's already a fact.

How can it be a fact? And if so, how can people already have taken that decision? Yes, he has a lot of work to do, but nobody has said he doesn’t do it. He struggled with injuries, and now he’s fit in that regard and is working with his so called ’global fitness’.

I’m prepared to give him this season to do so, a young man, in a new country, with new expactations and surroundings. Our players are not machines, even though they cost and incredible amount of money. They struggle as well, and there are many great players who has had problems in there first season in new countries.

I for one hope we continue to invest patience in Ndombele. He is, in my opinion, the most talented player in our squad.

Should see if Juve still want him and if so try a swap with deLigit. Optimistic but I was at the game on Sunday and that clip happened right in front of us. It can’t be overstated how much of a disgrace it was, he had only just come on and had done nothing before that point. As others have said the biggest issue is how revealing it is of his mentality.

For me, he’s already on borrowed time because he shows no professionalism and desire. Those are very difficult things to instill in a player. He has talent but give me a James Milner over the likes of TND.
I’d be even more disappointed if the players don’t have a word with him - surely HK is looking at that and saying not acceptable.
