I think the only way we'd consider it is if the players offered were Arthur and Semedo. Umtiti had talent but hasn't progressed at all and has way too many injury demons.

Semedo and Umtiti would both improve our back line no doubt, but I’m loathed to give up on Ndombele. In a years time he could end up on a Modric like trajectory. That said, he could also end up another David Bentley.

I’m glad I wasn’t here during Modric’s first season- I’m sure plenty of bellendry was expressed then too

Not sure what it was like here in that regard, but i've seen this comparison a few times and it just isn't accurate. Sure there's always going to be some who make knee-jerk reactions when people don't immediately adapt to a new league, but while Modric and others like Son and Eriksen didn't hit the ground running, they had solid first seasons given the circumstances, and a good amount of playing time. Modric I remember did very well, and was nowhere near an Ndombele flop. That being said, id certainly not be selling Tanguy, he clearly has potential and a second chance so to speak is warranted, considering his situation is perhaps a little different.

I like the boy, but I don't he's happy or comfortable with us, so if we get offered 1 or 2 decent Barca players in his stead I think we should take them if it's what Jose wants.

I'd be very disappointed if we let this super talent go.

Just get him fit and firing and we've one of the best players in the world.

Do whatever it takes, get him physically fit enough to showcase his talents consistently.

I‘ve not seen too many players fix the problems that Ndombele has shown this season.

Incredible on the ball but switches off when he’s defending and strolls around.

Would love him to turn it round but doubtful.

Alfredo Martinez who is really, really reliable for Barcelona said they put Arthur on transfer market and could be used to swap with Ndombele

Tanguy is a tremendous talent.
He not only showed it in Ligue 1 with Lyon but he did it against the top Prem team as well last season.

I do not know what is going on with him here at Spurs. Why the sub par performances?
Is it the new club, new country, new language, toothaches, hemorrhoids. lack of street mimes etc.? Who really knows what the issue is.
He simply didn't perform like he can.

So here's my concern. You've got JM's public criticisms plus some fan reactions that he's a fat, lazy f**k. Couple that with Barca's interest & his head may already be turned. A prestigious top 2 club in the world playing in much less demanding league. There may be no way back for us to get the most out of him either on the field or financially in a transfer. Could be very good strategy by Barca stepping at the mo.

Hopefully I'm wrong as I'd really like him to reach his potential here.

There's clearly an issue with him.

His fitness is beyond poor and we have no idea if it is lack of fitness, desire or an underlying problem. Naturally some fans will decide they do know the root cause but fact is we don't.

There's clearly a lot of talent there and despite going about it the wrong way, not following lockdown guidelines, he has shown a desire to improve his fitness.

Essentially the management team need to work out where the issue is and if he is worth persevering with.

Wouldn't want to make a call with the limited info I have.

let the guy have a season to adapt to a new league without thinking he practiced some voodoo that backfired on his life FFS

it's such a common issue lmao

Really don’t know where I stand with this. He could go on to be the new Dembele or he could be a much more expensive Dalmat/Tarrabbt. My main concern is from the outside it looks like it’s his mentality that needs to be fixed. Pretty much the hardest thing to change. Hopefully I’m well off with this and he turns into a Spurs legend. If Barca are willing to throw in a quality right back and CB for him then I’m really on the fence with what to do.

He will be one the best players in the world, if Spurs can’t recognise that he will achieve it elsewhere.

if the team with the best midfield of all time want one of our midfield players then you probably shouldn't be on the fence with wanting to let him go

We would be stupid to give up on him so early in his Spurs career. He is potentially world class and the two players Barca have supposedly offered aren't anywhere near good enough. Arthur is a serious player and would be a fantastic addition, but not at the expense of Ndombele.

If you look back at his career, the worrying thing is, it looks like he's had the same problem throughout it. Team mates have come out and spoken about how talented he was, yet he took longer to break through as he didn't have the attitude or desire to go with it. He needs to knuckle down, improve his fitness and then he will be truly world class. My concern as others have stated, if his mentality is weak, Barca calling and giving him a way out in a slower league is a major concern. I hope Jose sticks with him, gives him pre season to prove himself fitness wise and then hopefully his career takes off with us.

The only person who can do it is Tanguy, so I guess we will see how much he wants it over the coming months.

Will be so pissed off if we give up on him this early. Clearly he's struggled this season but there were plenty of times when he absolutely ran the show. Give him time and give him some competent midfielders to work with and then see what happens. If he's still struggling after next season (whenever that may be) then fair enough, get rid.
