nonsense

and by the way, in the modern game Hoddle would have needed to up his work rate
Hoddle in the modern game would have played for RM or Barca, all these years later and people still go on about his work rate... I had the pleasure of watching all his games for us.... Simply the best i have seen, born in the wrong era... Today would be priceless.

Totally agree. Hoddle was simply the best player we've ever had. There is hardly any debate to be had

Agreed, by far the most skilful palyer I ever saw play in our shirt.

In no way am i comparing the skill level of Hoddle and TN. Just to asking the doom merchants what our fans and Jose would have said about him. And maybe cut TN some slack so he can sort himself out..

Possibly, the modern game is different now. Teams generally don't carry mavericks.

I have got almost overwhelming Negative feedback for daring to think the problem might not just be with Ndombele so I could well be wrong. But I still feel the best outcome for Tottenham is Mourinho redoubling his efforts to make it work with Tanguy.

At the moment everyone isn doubting José one bit and that’s great, I feel the same in the sense that I am optimistic for the season ahead, he has a lot of buy in from almost all the players and is doing a lot of good things. But everything is great in preseason.

The reason I want Mourinho and Ndombele to succeed together is because Ndombele has technical and creative ability beyond almost anyone in our squad. The thing that absolutely killed Mourinho at Man Utd is the fact he built a dull team that was so grindingly functIonal it looked prehistoric when compared to the likes of Klopp. He couldn’t fit in Pogba, the players lost faith in him even with trophies and results dried up. I want him to succeed at Spurs and think he has a far better chance of that with Tanguy on his side and in it.

We've already seen with Mourinho there are games where we lack spark and creativity, this is not a slight on José, this is more a sad reality that a midfield pool of Winks, Højbjerg, Sissoko and Lo Celso isn’t quite good enough in my opinion to make the champions league, add a fully fit motivated Tanguy and I believe it is. So I want Mourinho to find that player for him and for Tottenham.

When Tottenham succeed and overachieve it is traditionally because we find ways to make players better than we thought they ever could be, it’s hard work it’s not giving up. Redknapp had to do it with Bale, Pochettino had to do it with Dembele and Rose and Walker and stop Son from leaving . They were all slated at various times but within them was our future success. I see Tanguy the same, he can be so good, no one wants to be a failure. I hope Spurs and Mourinho are doing everything they can to help him and find out why he is unhappy.

It's insane to want this according to some here but for me it’s hard to look back on the last 10 years at Spurs and see it any other way.

Hoddle wasn't a maverick at all - he was a wonderfully gifted footballer and frankly in today's football world there is really not one player who you could compare to him with his range of passing. Personally I would go with Gazza as the most gifted player I have seen in a Spurs shirt who had that little bit more oomph to his game than Hoddle but both were wonderful footballers

Completely forgotten if JJ’s twitter can go in the Itk thread or if it’s no twitter at all. Anyway he’s commented on Ndombele but I can’t copy and paste it over for some reason. Maybe someone else can try?

This situation is going to be a source of persistent irritation, until he is sold, loaned out, or for some bizarre reason suddenly decides to focus and put in the effort required. It's a bit of a pickle for everyone involved.

I have a hard time imagining there's a team out there that would be willing to pay us the amount we paid for him. His behavior over the last 12 months is a gargantuan red flag. A huge risk for the money involved.

Hence, I believe it's more likely that Levy finds a partner to loan TN out, and receives a player or two on loan in return. Low risk for both teams, with potentially high reward.

EG: Let's say PSG or Barca or Juve want to make some moves, and they focus on TN's upside, and the potential for him to develop into one of the very best midfielders in Europe, then I can see them considering a deal that works for everyone involved.

Or, the stronger likelihood, is that we are stuck with him until January, thereby crippling finances set aside for transfers.

All in all, it's a fucking debacle.

On a rating of 1-5 with 1 being good newsndombele and 5 being badnewsndombele where would you say the tweet rates?

He didn’t say much.

context: someone asks: Any Truth in the TN stuff?

JJ: definitely something in this but any detail I will not elaborate on as it could go a few different ways so best not to comment. Wait and see as this will rumble on all pre- season (or if someone pays us our money to take him) !

JJ then “Actually didn’t know what I just commented on what’s come out about him?”

guy replies:
Read some stuff re attitude, not training, arguments etc. Jose doesn’t want him.

JJ: Ah ok yes

riveting stuff here.

I don’t think anyone aside from that weird Churchill guy would really care too much about TN’s personal life or “commitment” if he was able to actually finish a match. Who gives a **** if he really loves the club, we’d all be happy with someone who can stay in shape and put in professional performances.
Modric didn’t love it here, and in fact almost left for Chelsea but never once did I doubt his footballing ability or fitness even after the Chelsea rumors.

Is the weird Churchill guy me that you refer to? Sort of like a compliment!

That's pretty much a full house as far as ITK go. Even Gards stated Jose doesn't want him.

But yeah this is a massive problem. Having this hanging over us for preseason and likely the season.

I mean it’s pretty significant if he’s also saying he could be on his way out.
