The funds from Wanyama and N’Koudou sales could go towards a player in January, perhaps.

Wishful thinking.

Certainly helps, with Nkoudou close too that's pretty much all of the deadwood dealt with. Wages saved too. Can only be good news in respect of future transfers.

Probably just leaves Aurier on the 'for sale' list, but even he will have his uses until we sign another RB.

A shame his injuries got in the way; he was outstanding in 16/17. Probably the best player in his position in the league that year, with the exception of Kante.

Reality is he's behind all of Lo Celso, Sissoko, Winks, Ndombele and probably Dier and Skipp for a starting spot, and if I was Poch, I'd much rather throw in a youngster like Skipp over him every time to give him as many minutes as possible.

Sad end but the right move for everyone.

Real shame the way it's gone, one of the players I'd love to see back at spurs in some coaching capacity in the future, comes across as a fantastic person.

I pray he passes this medical. Be a minor miracle if he does. Time for both parties to move on here. Good player. Injuries took their toll.

It's a mind boggling decline. I guess it just shows how injuries can curtail your performance and ability. That knee injury was clearly much worse than we thought and he just hasn't been the same since.

I really thought he would be a mainstay in our DM for years after his debut season.

I guess it's worse because he's a big lad and his knee will always be fragile.

Kristoff Teurrer is saying no medical has happened yet and we are still negotiating. He’s the guy to follow for this (don’t trust my spelling of his name) as he’s incredibly well connected when it comes to all things Belgian football.

Wanyama really was excellent that first season for us. I thought we were signing at tank when we got him but I found myself admitting I was wrong. He became a real colossus and got far better on the ball as his confidence grew. Then it all went downhill for him. A real shame.

Brugge will be paying +- 10m? How can they afford that kind of fee?

Would be exceptionally good business for us. Not because a fit Wanyama wouldn't be worth that kind of money, but with all that uncertainty around his health that sounds close to insane for a Belgian team.

Sold a bunch of players and made a stack of cash, not least a couple of expensive ones to Villa:
