Our decision to sign him over Batshuayi is looking stupider and stupider by the week. If Kane is out for any length of time I know which of the 2 I'd rather have leading our line!!!
The whole point of signing Janssen was to have a player who played similar to Kane to come in if he's out so the team doesn't have to change too much. Both all action No 9 types. Having a willowy pace player who only plays off the shoulder and can't hold it up would just mean playing a totally different way.

People need to chill out a bit. The team is not playing with confidence and we're still grinding out results. The confidence and fluency will come back again.

He isn't similar to Kane.

I think he is. Hard working, busy, holds the ball up well, can drift wide, physical. Can play back to goal, can pick a pass.

The first time I ever saw him play for Holland at Wembley I thought he reminded me of Harry.

Happy clappers out in full force I see. Close to £50m spunked on 2 players (VJ & MS) who in no way shape or form improve our first 11. For that kind of £ you expect players to make a immediate impact in our side. In the current climate we are in no position to spunk away money like others can hence the players MUST make a difference. In this case has VJ or even looked liked he would?

Kane plays on the half turn, constantly looking to get in behind. Dropping deep, going wide. Janssen works the line but it's principally a back to goal target man. Kane isn't that at all.

The state of some of the posts in here. He's missed one good chance and failed to play one ball and some of you are getting your knickers in a twist.

Hope he proves you all wrong, not that any of you will admit to your silliness at writing off a player who hasn't even had a start for us

Yeah he made the wrong decision, but he made the chance initially as he muscled the defender away with ease and so far his hold up play and bringing others into the game looks fine (see Wednesday night playing in Kane for his chance) which is what I think is important.

I think there have been a couple of times, today obviously, where's he trying too hard to make the big announcement of his arrival and he should focus on keeping it simple and playing for the team. Fans also shouldn't focus on goals at this time, we needed another alternative focal point up top and so far he looks like he can be that. If he plays the role well and can link up play then that's the main thing. Goals will then come, most importantly from the team and hopefully him individually.

I do feel that this Gillingham game has come at the right time. With Kane coming off today, ideal chance to give a start to Janssen, get some minutes under his belt, and hopefully against lesser opposition, Janssen can get his first goal and get his confidence up.
I still believe this guy is going to be a ruthless goal machine for us once he settled properly.

Personally he reminds me of Giroud, if he becomes as good as Giroud we got ourselves a bargain, he is our best bit of business this season imo

I just hope Kane comes back quick

Your opinions are a tad extreme and immature.

Personally I see the fact that we have a quality option to bring in for Kane as a huge difference. If Kane had got this injury last season we'd have been fucked.

This will be Lamela all over again.
Fucking give the boy some time. He's still very young, new league etc and has only started 1 game for us.

Yes he spanked that shot over the bar today but Kane has done that loads of time as have most of our other players. Judge him once he's really adapted to the league and the way we play and after he's actually started a good number of games in a row. You don't become Hollands n.o1 striker and become a shit player overnight.

You can look at his 'bad decision' or 'misses' but you can equally look at his class goal vs inter Milan in pre-season, his brilliant effort vs Everton which was saved amazingly by skekelenberg, his great link-up play vs palace and Monaco... I could go on.

He is fine and really suits what we need up there give him time.....!!!

I try not to let this silliness bother me. Some of our "fans" only happy when they're whinging and we've given them fuck all to whinge about for so long

Agreed. It's like people saying we weren't good enough today vs Sunderland, just ludicrous some fans views, like you say some are only happy when they have something to complain about.

Id be more worried about sissoko than Janssen tbh as just not 100% sure what position he should play but he does offer us that pace and directness that other players we have don't offer.

All positive at the moment apart from the Injuries. Love it COYS
