Does seem an odd one. Don't see him as better than what we've & maybe an agent looking to get his player an improved deal.

Left footed CB only reasonable explanation for Vertonghen long term replacement

Had a good season.
Liked him when I've seen him.
Age and price ok.
Not against it.
Would block CCV and Foyth
and perhaps Sanchez though.
Trainupable, has the basics.

Be surprised if it happens.

The Champions League runners-up are keen to bolster their defence as they prepare for the possible departure of Toby Alderweireld.

Toby was on Sky Sports News this morning saying that he expects to be at Spurs next season.

He's right footed.
Dier can comfortably play the ball with either foot.
He can and has played the LCB and RCB positions to the same high level.
You know all this.

The only question is whether he prefers to play midfield.

Not really he prefers playing on his right and we would ideally need a player who is comfortable on their left foot like Vertonghen.

Although it was just a couple of games, I've got to say I was more impressed with the boy Mings in the Villa play-off matches.
