Doesn't use a chip. There are 7 cameras around the goal that detect if it has crossed

Either the system stopped working between it being tested pre-match and when it happened, or the location of the ball crossing the line so close to the post with the GK leaning against the net screwed up the computer. The ball probably was in line with the goal post due to the GK leaning on the net. Maybe they never tested that?
