To be fair they did a fair bit on Kane and on Jose... but mainly an analysis of Kane.

Do they show the first hour of MNF again on Sky now?

I missed it. Would be good to see that. Although, what more can they say other than he’s fucking awesome!

Digne's ban reduced to one game:

“An independent Regulatory Commission has upheld a claim of clearly excessive punishment in relation to Everton FC’s Lucas Digne. The defender was sent off for serious foul play during a Premier League fixture against Southampton FC on Sunday 25 October 2020 and would have been suspended for three fixtures. However, the independent Regulatory Commission has withdrawn his original suspension and applied a one-match suspension instead.”

Soft pedalling, not nice to see. He was on a mini rampage.

Wasn't even a red, complete accident.

Kane is one of the best English strikers of all time and at the moment possibly the best in world football, I think DCL would be lucky if he ever becomes half the player Kane is (which would still make him a very good PL striker).
Absolutely. Personally, I think Kane is a terrible yardstick to use to compare other players to, because he's a phenom - his prodigious talent is so much of an outlier. It's a little like comparing the performance of, say, a BMW M3 to a McLaren F1. The BMW is a superb machine and can be said to be better than most cars, but it's still left in the dust by a McLaren F1 (ironically, the F1 is actually powered by a BMW-built engine )

I suppose one can use elements of Kane's game as a yardstick, but not the whole package because it's the unique combination of skills, work-ethic, mentality, all the aspects that make up a professional sportsman, that has made him the player he is - both in terms of what he can do and in terms of his personal objectives and achievements.

Kane is a McLaren F1. And there are a few others in the the world of football that you could describe in similar terms. To extend the simile, most other Premier League players will range from your high-end Beemers and Audis to your bog-standard VWs and Fords etc (with one or two Ladas thrown in as well - I'm looking at you Maguire).

DCL, for all his merits, has not shown anything in his career so far to suggest that he is a McLaren F1-type player. Of course, there are always late bloomers, but I've seen nothing in his game to suggest he can be one of those players.

Looking at this weekends fixtures, there is only 1 match that I am not really interested in (Newcastle v Everton) the rest should all be very good games.

Sheff Utd v City - We all know what problems Sheffield can cause sitting back at home and City have not looked great.
Burnley v Chelsea - Burnley are tough at home and again, Chelsea have not looked great
Liverpool v West Ham - Liverpool have some injury problems, West Ham are in good form.

Villa v Southampton - Both play pretty exciting styles
Man United v Arsenal - Hope they both suck but still am interested in watching since it directly impacts us

The Monday games are not exciting but most Monday games have been poor. Fulham v West Brom will have zero viewers. Leeds v Leicester might be good because of the contrasting styles.

West Ham have been decent but, in typical jammy Liverpool fashion, Antonio is out for them so Liverpool’s injuries at centre back are helped by West Ham missing their best forward.

Agree but Antonio is out for West Ham. That makes a huge difference for them
