Premier League clubs have agreed on new postponement guidance that says teams will have to show four positive COVID-19 cases in order to apply to have a match called off.

Let’s change the rules midway through the season, making it a totally uneven playing field should exactly the same situations happen again.

It still beggars belief that before covid there was no plan for how to deal with the season being interrupted / shortened / cancelled, and now over the last summer there wasn't a plan drawn up for postponements for covid cases within the squads.

I guess the problem remans that a player's covid status is private between him and the club.
A dishonet club, like the arse, could say it has 4 cases, but that can't be verified.
