I know this is a football forum but quite frankly football can go and eat itself.
If cricket and all other sports are postponing all games until further notice what makes football think it’s so much more special?

Under my proposals the season could be finished in less than a week without the need for players to be at the top of their physical fitness. Just make each game a penalty shoot out on a neutral ground (Wembley). No bodily contact, no sweating, no spitting, no emptying the contents of their nasal passages on to the pitch, no hugging each other if they score. No fourth official. No VAR. There is also the chance that we could squeeze into the top four.

Why didn't I think of this before? Simples! :)

But don't we suck at penalty shoot outs?!

Replace matches with the crossbar challenge. Each team sends an emissary - or tribute, if you will - to The Games.

Decide the league in an afternoon.

Stay safe everybody

Not posted for a while, this is total bs.
They should all play if they don't want to agree to a pay cut then go out and earn your money bunch of mercenaries

Footballers getting paid isn’t a reason to restart the league before society is ready.

So many other more pressing factors here.
I do agree bud,but going with the thread. I'm having to risk my family and friends to earn my pound note as if I don't goto work I don't get paid

I know footballers aren’t the sharpest but this is the main reason why I’d be surprised that they’ll be allowed to play. Especially by their agents, managers and parents who wouldn’t be too happy about it.
They could finish the season of using FIFA 2020!

I used to train as hard as some modern-day players....they will survive OK, plus, the overall tempo of the games near the finish will be very slow, so what?
Also in athletics we had almost a continuous season....... Cross-Country in the winter; Road racing/Relays in the spring / track throughout the summer, and the very top athletes competed a lot more. So, i. m. h. o. a longer season will not kill the little darlings.
